The last mission in the game. Sly and the gang are off to save Carmelita, bring Le Paradox to justice, and ensure the safety of the Thievius Raccoonus.
Don't you guys love endings where things are cleanly wrapped up and have a satisfying feeling of closure? Ya, so do I. Wish this game had one.
In this part Gexup finally tells his full backstory about the horrible experience he had with his game that was mentioned in Naughty Dog vs. Insomniac round 5 NOT

You know what's the hardest part about love or staying in a relationship? It's spending so much time on someone you believe is the "one" and then one day you're separated. It's something that will happen to anyone, but somehow fiction caught up with reality and reminds us our own heartbreaks. Since Valentines Day is over, I think it's a great time for me to list out my own 10 romantic couples or relationships that never became a success. On Valentines Day, I've made a list of my favorite Romances...
... but that was a hard list to make because I couldn't make it a Top 10 that actually made me satisfied for following those fictional relationships. However, here on this list, I've been so disappointed with so many fallen relationships that was so entertaining and so engaging to see that ended in a disappointing note that could have done more. I would of instead of made a Top 10 "Worst" Romances, but that's just like making a list of the Top 10 Worst Romantic Comedies and you can just look that up anywhere on the internet. Here on this list, I feel so passionate about relationships that I bought many of them like a sucker in hopes that they were going to live happily ever after, like a fairy tail, but broke my heart because they should of done more. I like to remind everyone that in my Favorite Romances list, there were some heartbreaks towards the end, but I believed they did enough to keep me satisfied when they were together. Here in this list however, my picks are just seeing that there's a connection between the characters but the storytellers didn't do as much as they could have done. The only way to make it in the list is if they [actually] affection with one another; not these fan-made fiction of pairing two characters that never actually happened or had a unannounced love-interest that never came in a light of day.
Finishing off the last few missions in the old west, and now we seem to be in...Canada? Well better late than never I suppose. The Canada chapters in Sly 2 kicked ass.
Well love is in the air on Valentines Day and when I don't have a date at this time of the year I usually just watch any media with romance on it. Romance is some of my favorite genre and sub-genre because it's just a whole different experience and it hurts me to see a romance bad due to the fact that the love is forced, 1-Dimensional, and doesn't really have a purpose other than putting two couples together. To me, a great romance is when they have a whole different challenge and different kind of love; like passionate love, playful love, lust, or destiny. I know what is actually a good romantic story when I see one and here are some of my romances told in comic books, movies, television, video games, ect.

I love a lot of things in this world
and you all know that I love Video Games, Cartoons/Animation, Comic
Books, Movies, and Music, but there’s another thing that I love
that many of you won’t guess even if you known me very well and
that’s Pro-Wrestling. Some of you guys are wondering why I’m
making this confession/announcement of this hidden love of mine and
to tell you the truth, you’ll know why I’m posting this blog
entry. I know some of you guys are booing at the fact that I love a
“fake-sport,” but that’s the whole point why I like it because
it’s all [staged] soap opera for people who love action. The
greatest comparison I can give to Pro-Wrestling is actually comic
books. The major comparisons both of them have are that they both
have heroes and villains, they create drama to add conflict with each
side, and the end result is that they resolve it with endless battles
and fights. And that’s the reason why I tune in and out of
wrestling almost every week because of how both wrestling is
entertainingly good and (very often) entertainingly bad.
Since the fifth Resident Evil film skipped theatres in the Nordic countries, I had to wait for the DVD to come out. Now it has come out, here's the review. Click on the poster to read it...

[WINNER OF TCT]
Damn this took a long time. We're both EXTREMELY guilt-ridden, but this is what happens when one member is in an animal health program (...and working), the other member is in a family that will do everything in their power to distract her, PLUS having no time limit. I don't even know if anyone (including Balco and our opponents) even remember that we were still trucking, but I wouldn't blame them. It took a stupid long time. If any of you are in Toronto, drop me a line and I'll send you some Kinder Eggs. If it helps, I whipped Possk for weeks. She was in a great amount of pain, but it helped.
Ok, video. This video is a focus on alchemy, particularly human transmutation (a taboo form of alchemy). Despite even the best intentions and purest motives, tragedy can happen. Alchemists are believed to be the closest things to gods there are in the world, but "putting your hand into the fire" will still cause you to get burned. And at the same time, the "power of a god" can be used for evil. A double-edged sword if you will. And even despite all that power, you're still a mere mortal.
There is a crapload of angles Possk and I could discuss, but it would flood the description box. TO TEH BLOG...maybe!

Gavin writes songs based on video games and movies. This one is about Skyrim, though they have others about Batman, Half Life, Bastion, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, and many more.
And why yes, I even asked for permission to use this song :3

So ya, things went surprisingly smooth when editing this. I didn't even make an AMV Files article about it yet 0-0. But regardless, let's see if Nihon Ad Systems tolerates this one. It's been ages since I've seen a mass takedown of GDW footage. If this gets taken down, go to animemusicvideos.org and I'll upload there. This also might be submitted to Anime North for exhibition (since in case of violence I don't want too much to be riding on it). The video I would be sending for competition would be...well...I said it in my Sly 4 LP announcement video. Less violent and more unique.
This video is about the everlasting spirit of the dogs of Ohu, spanning 5 generations (Shiro, Riki, Gin, Weed, Orion), facing demon bears, rival packs, and other dangers to their way of life.
Song: Sovngarde Song
Artist: Miracle of Sound
Footage: Ginga Densetsu Riki (manga), Ginga Nagareboshi Gin (anime/manga), Ginga Densetsu Weed (anime/manga), and Ginga Densetsu Orion (manga). All recolours by Rascal of SilverFangFanhouse except for Gin's who was done by SilverEye of Gingaboard. All manga scans that weren't from Rascal were obtained from Gingaboard's Free Image Gallery.
Eww, that middle thumbnail part looks AWFUL! Wait for it to change for an epic screenie of Simba and Scar facing off.
Last part!
I...don't know what else to say. Last part 0-0. Great game, love it to bits. This is actually one of my fastest runs through this game on normal (my absolute fastest was 30 minutes on easy, no deaths). I need to beat QuackShot. I really do. Maybe I'll record my stab at redemption to prove that I can beat the first console game I ever had. Maybe after TCT. Lemme think it over.
OH, AND HUZZAH FOR UPLOADING EVERYTHING ON SCHEDULE! WOO, I'M AWESOME! Yes, it's late today, but I worked 10 hours today.
Difficulty: Normal
Levels: End of Be Prepared, Simba's Return, Pride Rock
Ugh, WLMM, when I say that I want everything but the second segment deleted by using select all + delete and ctrl-ing everything I want, that means that I want you to KEEP the audio from the second segment and not replace it with the audio from the first. Why is this thing replacing the old WMMs?
Oh, and I uploaded something on schedule. FANTASTIC!! Shame this is only 3 parts though lol.
Shit is getting real in this game! We have Simba grows up and then I have 3 deaths in one part (though thankfully, they are my only 3 deaths. Last one happened soon after this part ended. Remember when I said it would be easy if I didn't do something stupid?). We're getting into the evil levels, starting with Hakuna Matata (yes, this level is surprisingly evil. Ask anyone that played this game).
Difficulty: Normal
Levels: Hakuna Matata, Simba's Destiny, Be Prepared
This is going to be a bit of a short LP, done mostly because my friends wanted me to (many of us had this game as a kid). This is The Lion King for the Sega Genesis (version I'm playing, which is the best one :3), SNES, and PC. I originally recorded this in early May, but held off so I could re-record because quality is somewhat shitty (my recorder I used with Spyro 2 died. The settings are gone and I can't get the same quality). Buuuut shitty quality beat out of sync frame dropping every few seconds like with the other recorders I used. These parts won't be named, since this will only be 3 parts. Instead, I'll just use level numbers (hell, I just beat half the game in this part).
This is a game from my childhood. I remember getting it for Christmas 1994 and I was obsessed with it. Seriously, I was so determined to beat it, though I couldn't until I was in my teens (because we all know how I fail like that). People that have played this game know that many parts aren't easy, especially for young children. It's your typical side-scrolling platformer. Quite good for the time, but a bit dodgy. Still a great game and really hits my nostalgia kick.
Difficulty: Normal
Levels: The Pridelands, Can't Wait To Be King, Elephant Graveyard, The Stampede, Simba's Exile
This part doesn't contain any gameplay. It just has the last cutscenes, credits, my ranking, etc. It can be skipped, but whatever.
I hope you enjoyed these videos. I loved having another oppertunity to play my favourite game again, just I'm not particularly good at showing and recording it lol. This will be IT as far as LPs and such. Request all you like, though there's about a 90% chance or so that I'll stop. Though if I do something, it'll most likely be Spyro 3 (because of the Canadian stuff lol) or some Sega Genesis game I can easily zip through in one sitting.
THIS is easily the most epic moment in the game (...in my opinion). The cutscene, final round, everything. Beautiful, a bit sad, epic, it's all just so good. Okamiden's final boss is somewhat like this, and even though it's not AS good, it's easily the best moment in the game and decent successor to the final round against Yami.
Sorry, I've been really tired/busy. Also didn't name this part properly in my hard drive so I kinda lost it for a while.
Still fighting Yami. Here are the 3rd and 4th stages. Looks like this series will be about 49 parts (part 48 is rendering right now). Wow 0_0.
And I take back all of the bad things I said about ice in this part. It's perhaps the heaviest hitting attack you can do against the kernal...and it hits MULTIPLE times with one brush stroke.
But do I have SKILL? Well, not really. My ass doesn't get BADLY kicked though lol.
Yami is the final boss in the game, and damn he's (it's?) a doozy. REALLY long fight, including some very long cutscenes. But damn it, I love Yami as a boss (and the music is amazing).
Info: Yami has 5 stages. First one is a simple ball with saws and rockets, next is a segmented flaming, third is a slot machine, and fourth has swinging arms, legs, and guns. Look at the fifth for yourself. And seeing as there are so many attacks and variables, I can't really comment on strategy. It's an endurance match.
Looks like this boss run will be a part or two shy of Spyro 2 0-0. This is the last part before we fight the (super awesome) final boss, and that one will take about 4 parts (which includes the credits and everything).
Still got nothing to say about this bosses except this is where I finally had a brain while fighting Orochi.
I have nothing to say really except for how these fights don't need to be here. It was made even worse in Okamiden (final boss was epic, but fighting the bosses AND the grunt enemies was just excessive). Ok, enough nitpicking at Okamiden. Just watch!
LAST STAGE OF THE GAAAAAAAAAAAAAME! Strangely, Okamiden's ending has a similar format to this (oh ya, forgot to say that I got and beat Okamiden).
The clip here is a bit short because I cut the clips strangely. Can't explain, but it doesn't matter. Rest will maybe be around 14-15 minutes.
Info: The Ark Of Yamato is a bit of a pseudo dungeon that honestly didn't need to happen. Whatever. Odds are they did it to put in some cushioning between the 2nd last boss and the last boss, giving some history lessons about The Ark and the Moon Tribe, and lengthening the game another 30 minutes or so. In the ark, you have to defeat every one of the main bosses (except you only face Orochi once and the twin owls are excluded). That's Blight, Spider Queen, Ninetails, Crimson Helm, and Orochi to be completed in any order. No puzzles, no exploration, just kick some ass. They work the same way as they did before, except now they're hideously underpowered and should be a breeze. After you beat them, you'll be sent to the most epic boss fight in the history of the PS2.
And I'll be honest. I forgot to upload those few days.
Info: Lechku and Nechku will fight you the same time, with Oki lending a hand to take them down (though his part is fairly small). They have a wide variety of attacks including icicles, bombs, swords, swooping, and their infamous time-stopping attack that I hate so much. Hell, they even give you health (what gentlemen they are!). Not hard, just very chaotic with two owls going at you at the same time.
Ya, took a while to get here. Duh. And holy crap, part 40 already?
Info: He fights alone here, also giving you your first two-on-one, but you meet him later in the dungeon with the odds evened (still easy, but you deal with 2 bosses at the same time and Oki is pretty useless outside of 1 attack). There are two ways to finish this fight. Quickly and super-quickly. Since you're fighting alongside Shiranui, once you get things started, she'll start attacking with her brush (and other attacks) that do some serious damage. You can sit aside and let her do her thing, or you can DESTROY Nechku. He doesn't go down as easy when his buddy comes to help, but...DUDE SHIRANUI KICKS ASS!
The last brush technique and 5th tier reflector. Brush technique is a little meh, but gotta love solar flare! I'll say that I've been kind of selling the ice technique a little short. I actually did use it a little in the fight against Yami to SOME degree of usefulness.
Other than that, just running through puzzles and such and somewhat getting lost.
I swear, if I get ONE MORE BLOODY UNKNOWN ERROR...
(Ya, that was the reason why it took so long. Every time I tried, it wouldn't work. Ugh)
Aaaanyways, this is the last full dungeon of the game and has a brush technique (last one!), sub-boss, and a main boss. Almost there! And speaking of sheep, I saw newborn lambs today. CUUUUUTE!
Info: Wawku Shrine isn't difficult unless you're like me and way too neurotic about ice (...and canons, which this game often throws in combination). Bit of a disappointing final dungeon, but whatever. It's pretty. With the exception of the ark (if you consider that a dungeon), it's also the only dungeon with both a sub AND main boss as well as the only battles where you fight alongside an ally. That's kinda neat in itself.
There is nothing anyone can say that won't make me think that's the bloody zetsu tenrou battouga! THAT'S WHAT IT IS!
Mmm, it feels good to upload regularly. I should do that more often, huh? Well, at least it would feel good if I stopped getting these blasted "unknown errors" x_x.
Info: This battle is unlocked AFTER you beat Ninetails on Oni Island (along with many other bead quests). The Kusa 8 rematch pits you against 3 rounds of Canine Warriors without a break in between. Not particularly difficult, but hoarding items is helpful since they can knick off a lot of damage and are harder than their original fights. First round is Chi (Japanese Spitz), Shin (Boxer), Rei (English Pointer), and Ko (Collie). Then for some reason Gi (Siberian Husky), Chu (Kai Ken), and Jin (Shiba Inu) return for round 2, but might not be them and only replacements or something. And last but not least, we of course have Tei (Tosa Inu). All the dogs have their original attacks, as well as some additional ones that are shared (ex. digging) or completely new (ex. THE BATTOUGA!). And my question has been answered. You CAN fight them if you started a new game and you got the bead on a previous playthrough.
Ya, I do know how to beat that bloody water head. I didn't at that time though.
Yes, no upload yesterday. It kept breaking down due to an "unknown error". Tisk tisk Youtube.
Info: True Orochi is more or less the same as the original Orochi at the end of the first act down to the quicktime events. Only difference is the context and cutscenes. Also, no Moon Cave and hideos round things to push around in weird sand rooms! HURRAH!
Well, mixture of that, Sakuya, Rao, and most other things in this game.
Ok, listen up! I know I haven't been uploading a lot, but (and I'm serious this time) Okami will be finished by next week. Why am I so sure? Because I have it all recorded right here. I did this recording here in early February, another last week, and last on Monday. The entire game is completed and I have over 4 hours of video to upload (and it's currently being split). Do the math. Because of this and me wanting to get this series off my back, there will be 1 video posted per day and each of them is over 10 minutes long (there will be some part overlap, like part of True Orochi will be in for the Kusa 8 Rematch video). There will also be 1 video dedicated to part of the last cutscenes, credits, and the scores and that will be about 11 minutes long. Thank you for your patience (and Balco's too *pokes Possk*).
Info: Nagi behaves more or less like Evil Rao and Waka except harder. 'Nuff said.
Yep, more of this again. Yadda yadda, blah blah blah. At least I did well against the other spider.
Today is actually the first day of second semester, so I don't know when I can start recording again. I need to do a lot of stuff before I get to the next boss, which I THINK is True Orochi. Rehash battles! Woo!
Yep, got off me arse to record some more Okami. Hope you guys had a nice holiday. I really wanted to record more over my break, but the rents decided to stay in the house a lot for some reason. In this video and the next, there will be the bandit spider fights. It's the first fight I've shown that is 100% OPTIONAL and isn't needed for plot completion.
Also, my N. Ryoshima spider commentary recording (...that I made in October) seems to have vanished, so you've been spared my excessive whining. I replaced it with post-commentary where I just talk about random shit and how much I sucked at that fight. I hate doing post commentary. Enjoy (ya right).
Info: The bandit spiders are defeated the same way as the Geisha Spider (ie the first main boss) except they need 3 vines instead of 2. Easy fights really. I just make them look harder. Ryoshima's is in a nook before the temple and near some cattle, N. Ryoshima's is on one of the islands, and Kamui's is close to Wep'keer. The 3 all require the digging upgrade to get to the arenas and after you defeat the spider you recieve a sun fragment. Returning to the arena will unlock the gate challenges where you can earn beads.
OMFG AN UPLOAD!? Yes, indeed it is. Possk is still busy and quickly editing her TCT parts, so I quickly recorded this in my spare time (since my remaining parts will build off of her's). Almost Christmas and such and I've finished with classes (and passed all my stuff! Yay!). Oh, and happy holidays! I was going to say it, but I didn't want to make this 2 parts. Blame Oki for not shutting up.
Info: Oki is a pain in the ass both in the plot and in this battle no matter how cool he looks with his shapeshifting, poofy pants, pointy hair, and mask. The first stage is more or less a rehash of Rao and Waka (well, except his flying swords are icey), but his second stage gets a fresh lifebar and becomes loosely based on the Kusa 8 (except a lot more annoying since he can freeze you and create clones). I am so happy I picked up fireburst!
The next part will be of the Bandit Spiders, since the last spider is at the far end of Kamui near Wep'keer. Then I'll head back to Ryoshima Coast for the other one. If you remember in my Catcall Tower recording, I accidentally fell into the N Ryoshima cave when I was searching for brush upgrades.
There are craploads of Japanese shows, games, works of art, etc, that show multi-tailed foxes (with 9 tails too). It's mythology! Even Ninetails' role and actions in the plot reflect that (like possessing women and being a crafty trickster). I may not know a lot about Japanese mythology, but I know a little bit when it comes to kitsune.. Pokemon isn't special except with being the franchise of the most famous example, so stop putting it in a bloody pedestal! I know I ranted about this in the video, but it really pisses me off when people say Okami and Digimon ripped off Pokemon and they ALWAYS use Ninetales vs Kyuubimon as an example (regarding Pokemon vs Digimon).
Trust me, I have several examples of Pokemon basing their designs on mythological creatures. For one example, Skarmory is like the metallic Stymphalian birds from Greek mythology among other kinds of metallic birds.
Ok, *cough* well, this is the last video I have. All these should last you until I can find the oppertunity to do the next sub-boss. I have to say I'm quite happy with how this fight turned out. My first time (rematch included) was hideous and smelled of noob. NOW I can finally have my revenge!
Info: Ninetails is one of the harder fights in the game (which doesn't say much, but meh), and he loves to brag about it. It's complex in regards to how many stages he has and how many moves are in his arsenal, but the real kick is in his ability to draw on your canvas (and using your brush techniques against you). He is the ONLY BOSS that can do this (but someone else later can) and makes him a huge pain in the ass. Regardless, he has to be my favourite boss in the game. Once he raises his sword and gets struck by lightning, he divides into creatures represented by how many tails he has (minus one? Never counted). They are annoying as hell and can easily overwhelm you before they return. Once you get rid of them all, he is left with one and the battle becomes a million times easier except for the fact that he's also a million times faster (but also tires easily, limited in attacking, and is fragile).
Oh come on, I couldn't have been the only one thinking that.
Mmm, I love thunder. Never been able to use the secret technique (that you get later), but thunder in general is just so freaking sweet.
We're a little over halfway through the dungeon now. One more part of dungeon and then boss time. Not much else to say really. More stuff happens in the next part.
Here begins the Labyrinth Of Torment, a series of death courses and races in Oni Island. All races (to my knowledge) are mandatory, so don't screw up unless you hoarded health items or have the string of beads. Thankfully I have both, because I fail a lot here (though one of the courses decides to fail too).
One of the longest/hardest dungeons in the game. Goodie. Oni Island and the boss will take up the remaining 5 parts in the recording. Here is the dash and entry into the base (...with a big cutscene in between).
Info: Oni Island's approach is easy enough. And if you don't make it in time for whatever reason, the game lets you try again. Once you get to the island, you're welcomed by a series of death courses where you have to race a demon slip and then you die if you don't make it (well, one of them glitched. You'll see later). If you don't have any beads, hoarding health items is a must just in case. There is a merchant, but backtracking can be a pain.
Bah, this is painful. I actually had to use a health item for this fight. But don't worry, this guy will get his comeuppance *rolls up sleeves*...in about 5 parts. I'm usually good at this fight and bad at the other, but it seems to be switched here.
Well, still have a few cutscenes to get through, but the entire fight is in this video.
Info: Evil Rao is your typical small sub-boss like Waka. Jumps and runs around, sends firey swords at you, just trying to be as annoying as possible. Difference here is that Rao isn't vulnerable for as long or as frequently and she has a dive-bomb attack (the bird enemies like the Crow Tengu also have this attack).
Watch if you want the plot. Otherwise nothing much happens after the first minute or so. Skip this if you want. Just escaping from the dragon (eeeeeeeeeeasy), talking to the king, Rao getting the Fox Rods, Otohime showing a vision, and running to the temple. Next part will have a sub-boss, and then it'll be time for one of the longest dungeons in the game.
Ok, so this entire recording is nearly 2 hours long, so that's roughly 8 videos. That should last a while. It's made up of two dungeons (one completed here), two sub-bosses (one completed here), a brush technique, and a main boss. However, parts 1-3 will be uploaded day-after-day because part 2 is mostly cutscenes and travelling. I had a feeling that would happen, so I appologize. To make up for it, like I said, I'll be uploading those faster and then do the rest on a typical rate. You guys chew on these videos while I go AMV with Possk.
Dragon: Easily the shortest and simplest dungeon in the game. Lots of scrolls, but none are difficult and you can avoid them anyways. It's very pretty though. Good music too (bah, most of the music in this game is awesome anyways). There's one lock and one puzzle, but neither are that tricky.
Tube Foxes: Again, easy. These guys (all 9 of them, but all pretty weak) can be frustrating though since they love to bounce around. Not a real threat though. The most annoying thing they can do is suck out all your ink in a matter of seconds.
Was so not planning to do this since it's short, easy, and only one enemy. I just used this as an oppertunity to give updates, break up the nutshell narrating, and upload something for once. We have kennel duty shifts every few weeks for 2.5 days. I wake up at 5 am, get home at 7 pm, and go to bed at 11:30 pm. Ick. Also, I have more editing to do with Possk, so I won't sit down to do the dragon and Oni Island until next week or whenever I get good progress with our finals collab (or I might do it next week or on the weekend so I'll have lots of videos so I can edit with Possk without feeling guilty of leaving you guys high and dry).
And Easycap's drivers decided to self-destruct for some reason. I played it yesterday and it worked fine, but I tried it today and the drivers were apparently damaged (says device manager) and didn't detect it. Had to wipe out that thing and install the drivers again (and it's a very pesky thing to install *kicks*).
Info: Catcall Tower...er...has a lot of cats? All you do is jump up a tower by wall-jumping the gold parts. You can't die, there is only one enemy, if you fail here, you have my pity. Just be sure you have fish with you or else you'll want to strangle that stupid cat. Oh, and the brush technique is perhaps the 2nd most useless in the game, but it's pretty neat I guess.
Damn, I got my ass kicked here x__x. Perhaps I should've used a reflector or the stronger sword (wasn't sure at that if you get it at this point, though in hindsight I think you can).
Ya, not sure about when the next part will be, though I do know what it will be. Requires a bit of playing, but it will be a very short part. It doesn't help that I woke up with a cold on Saturday and have had a head throbbing with nose goo for days. I got my cough back too. And just to add, I'm leaving for Thanksgiving family stuff over the weekend (yes, Canadians have it in October).
Info: Blight isn't hard (especially if you stockpile on health items), but is perhaps the most ANNOYING little bug in this game. His attacks happen in the blink of an eye and isn't vulnerable for long, calling for mist spamming. When you hit him repeatedly or slash the glowing sword, it separates and leaves Goldnail open for a beat-up.
Well, not smoke exactly, but you get it. Gah, why does this game make me do all these drug references all at the same area? Well, the song isn't about drugs, but lots of people associate it.
Miiiiiiiiiiiiiist! At last! Boss is coming up next, but I don't know when I can record next. I woke up with a cold on Saturday.
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. Come now, it's impossible that Clover or whoever translated DIDN'T mean for this to be made fun of.
So, Ammy has been shrunk down to Issun's size and they're wandering through the palace to find where the mist is coming from. Kind of neat how they did it, don'cha think?
Palace: I couldn't remember too much of this place, but it is one of the easier dungeons. After playing, it's pretty short (slightly longer than Tsuta Ruins maybe) and a fair amount of platforming. Not a lot of hazards until later on and the brush technique you get is one of the most useful to spam on your opponent.
Anyways, Okamiden is a bit of a hot topic among fans, especially since it'll be released here in a matter of months. I don't think it's fair to juge things entirely by tiny bits of gameplay and trailers, though it's not like I think that the game will be even close to how good this is. The people that made the game (now in Platinum Studios) said themselves that they aren't making a sequel, so this is most likely someone different in Capcom. Most of the things I'm thinking is wrong with the game is mostly because it's a DS game. DS games have limited possibilities with graphics and length, which was something Okami was famous for. Another thing is that I do not approve of the super-cuteness and the premise behind the story makes no sense to me. That is all I'll say about the game until it comes out and can eventually play it. Or maybe I'll peek at some lengthly Japanese gameplay stuff first.
Ya, sorry about the wait. I had too much stuff to do, mostly related to starting school and continuing in the contest with Possk (semi-finalists, woo). I ended up deciding to do the Sunken Ship because I thought it would've been silly to skip it just because of no bosses in it. This was a fairly long sitting and I did both the ship and the Imperial Palace, which was over 1 hour together, so expect 4-6 pieces.
Sunken Ship: Really short (as short, maybe shorter than the Gale Shrine), very few fights, but they really cram it in on you. Unlike some of the other dungeons, this one has a fair amount of puzzle solving and using your environment with minimal use of your brush. This is also the only dungeon without a boss fight, though you get a pair of forced battles Jiro & Saburo and their combined form Ichiro that you can't find normally in other places (I think they come in one of the gate fights). Yep, that's pretty much it. There's not much to explain.
FALSE ENDING! FALSE ENDING! Those of us who played without spoilers or any idea how long it was, admit it, we all thought this was the end of the game. I remember myself I finished at just under 20 hours my first time, and then thinking "...no fucking way..." when I was shown that this is only the first major arc (out of 3 major arcs: Orochi, and then eventually Ryoshima Coast and Kamui). This is just like in most other bloody Zelda games where you THINK you're done, but the bad guy has something up his sleeve and you have so much more to do (such as the whole 7-years thing in OOT and being dragged into the Dark World in LTTP) *shot*. But ya, none of us really minded, right? The game only gets more epic from here.
The beads are coming off! I'm serious this time lol. After 100 years, it's Ammy vs Orochi round 2, and even though she's weaker than her former self, so is Orochi. The result? Will there be more fail in this miserable place? You'll have to see.
I've been giving a lot of love to the reflectors (which is unlike me), but with the fight's prize, I'll be pretty much using the swords from now on. Just my style of fighting.
Info: Even though it's sickeningly long and filled to the brim with cutscenes, this is still one of my favourite fights in the game even though it isn't very challenging (well, most things in this game aren't very challenging). Orochi's fight is pretty busy since at any given time, you could be hit by the effects of two heads (depends on the head of course). The way you defeat them is the same, which is to get them stone drunk and then start attacking. Man, isn't that epic? In the next stage, they no longer use elemental attack and then just snap at you (and naturally, their reach is still pretty good. I'm getting attacked by heads I'm not even focusing on). Then you have a Susano thing and one of the only times you'll use crescent for battle progression.
Two rolling puzzles in one dungeon? That can't be legal! Bah, this one is a million times easier at least.
Finally the end to this bloody cave and off to the main event, Orochi! Yes, everything so far has built up to this one battle (well, most of the battle is in the next part). Due to the video's length (and it being too awkward to trim the the cutscenes), Orochi's battle technically is in two videos, but most of the fighting will be in the next video. The first "stage" really isn't that much of a fight, especially since I forgot something *cough*.
Just bringing it up again if the last 50 times weren't clear enough on how I want to jab a rotton mayo-covered dagger into the gut of this room. Who the hell is Orochi's interior designer? Most likely the same one that designed Ganon's castle from Link To The Past. Oh those bad memories in that place. Did I also say that I hate invisible floors?
And ALWAYS! ALWAYS! IT NEVER FUCKING FAILS! ALWAYS WHEN I'M RECORDING! GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
*dusts self off* Well, uhhh, ya. This is the last full part with the dungeon. It would've gone faster if I didn't get stuck in a certain room *cough*.
Getting some real progress. Got another one of my favourite brush techniques, inferno (though the poor phoenix is playing the "role" of "rooster"). The fire effects in this game are very pretty, yes?
It's confirmed. This will be 5 parts, with 3.5 for the dungeon and 1.5 for the boss. I wanted to put Orochi in it's own part, but I didn't want to skip on that many cutscenes or make a 6th part. I'll say it again: People in this game talk too much lol.
It's off to save Kushi and go pick a fight with Orochi! Right, so this dungeon/boss will take at least 5 videos. Got stuck a few times. Woo, another oppertunity to be lazy with recording. I say it in the annotations, but I'll say it again here. I get very...vocal during this recording. Don't put your speakers high. Raising the mic boost and doing the Moon Cave was not a good idea. I know that now.
Info: Entering one of my least liked dungeons, second only to Oni Island. It can be very frustrating, especially if you're new or can't remember the passageways. It's not the largest dungeon, but it's not hard to get confused with the many paths in the hub area. Lots of battles also litter the place, and the enemies are getting stronger. When you look at the rest of the videos, you'll see how worked up I get over this place. Other than that, it's also fairly light-hearted with impy antics despite the gloomy decor. This is also one of the few places (I believe) that you can't return to.
*shouldn't be allowed to make puns*
While I'm making Ginga refs, Akakabuto ("Red Helmet") would've made a better boss than this. Am I right, Ginga fans?
With Crimson Helm defeated, that half-baked prophet snatched the Serpent Crystal and is off to the Moon Cave. You know what that means. Gah, I'm so not excited to do that dungeon. At least the boss battle is worth it.
Info: I'll be dead honest. A lot of people have (fairly small) issues with how easy this game is. I'm one of them for the most part. Why? Because boss fights shouldn't be this fast without an uber weapon. It took me much longer using roseries my first time around, but the reflector knocks off a disgusting amount of damage. It would've been much faster if I didn't play so defensively. Crimson Helm has a decent variety of attacks. He can charge, send a stream of flames, jump, and create firey rings, attacks similar to the Bull Chargers later in the game (that I find much harder by the way). But with the 8 orbs floating around, giving you 8 guilt-free hits, no worries. Just slash him when he's still, he explodes into flames, blow it out, and then go nuts on his skeleton. One of the fastest-to-beat bosses in the game.
*shot for title* ...and does anyone notice that the middle thumbnails for the last two videos are in the same area?
Lol, the automatic tags suggest "educational" and "handheld console". I don't know which one is more worthy of a wtf. lol
Getting one of my favourite brush techniques from my favourite brush god. Galestorm is so pretty, isn't it? Anyways, because the video was 33 minutes long (lots of cutscenes and a Susano thing, couldn't find many worthwhile places to cut out), I had to make this really short. Regardless, at least it gave me the option of putting Mr Boss in his own video.
Couldn't think of a creative title. Gah, I hate myself with how much time I wasted. Well, first video of the Gale Shrine, the second dungeon. The only things I remembered were a few sections, the brush, and the boss. Nothing on the layout.
And for some reason WMM is still giving me shit.
Info: Going through this place made me remember why I never remembered much. IT'S SO FREAKING SMALL! Seriously, it has to be one of the smallest dungeons in this game (especially compared to larger ones like Oni Island and the Moon Cave). Hardly any fights, not very many areas to explore, so it's all really easy...when you know where you're going. I could've fit this easily in 2 videos if I didn't waste time being stupid.
Ugh, this video didn't edit well. I spent hours trying to sync it. In WMM, when I play it one time, it sounds perfect. Play it again (no shifting or other edits) and it sounds different. Damn, it's freaking haunted. In the end, I ran all of the footage into WMM and did syncing in Vegas. I also have inconsistant audio, but that's better than it being painfully out of sync. Grr, other problems better not come up.
Gi: Not much to say except he fights by kicking up dirt and all the other attacks.
Jin: Fights almost exactly like Chu with his holes (I didn't fall in! Yay!) but he also decides to plays real dirty if you know what I mean. Pfft, a goddess has to spend millions of yen (useless thing anyways, just got it for laughs), yet the pink Akita gets it for free?
Next video will be the second dungeon, the Gale Shrine. I can't remember the layout very well (less than Tsuta Ruins), oh boy...
Took a bit of a break to catch up on AMV stuff, since as always, I put them first. Finished Madokara Mieru as well as did my first (and possibly only) collab with the oh-so-famous Possk (ie the one that forgot Spyro could swim).
Anyways, as described in the first bit, tell me if these nutshell videos are necessary. If no one likes them, I'll just put a small plot blurb in the description. It's just one more thing to edit and does eat up time.
This part (as well as maybe the next part or two) will involve fighting the Canine Warriors. The first two are here, Tei and Chu. I remember these two being harder, but I guess I was thinking about something else. Princess Fuse and the Canine Warriors are based on classic Japanese literature, featuring the Hakkenshi, 8 spiritual sons (associated with dog spirits) born to Satomi House's Princess Fuse.
Tei: Pretty basic formula and all Canine Warrior battles. When the orb glows, he's invincible and starts to attack usually going berserk or doing a frontal charge.
Chu: Pretty much the same sort of fight, except this little bugger is faster and seems to jump around a lot more. Also, he likes to dig, throwing up dirt (like Kyoshiro from GDW) and leaving holes to get you stuck and then he attacks from there. Dirty bastard.
Bah, everything seemed to go wrong. I could only record early in the morning, stupid scrolls wouldn't leave me alone, was half asleep, and my microphone was (and still is) giving me some light static. It was doing that in the ruins too. You don't notice it as much when the game is playing, but loading screens and nutshell stuff is pretty obvious. My mic is fine, my sound card is fine, stupid technology!
Info: The next fight against Waka is much easier than before due to no water hazards. Doesn't look like it's easier, but that's because I was a half-asleep idiot that couldn't switch herself off from Kingdom Hearts mode (WHY IS IT CIRCLE!?). His attacks are longer, he moves around more, does more damage, and tires out less, but that's nothing major.
I REALLY don't know how I'm going to do the next 4 sub-bosses. They are all part of one group, aren't too hard, but there is a lot of stuff between them. Most likely I'll do them in individual videos. The second one I know doesn't need a nutshell thing, so maybe I'll do some editing.
Finally, we're at the first boss, and she's a big'un.
Well, I guess I should start recording again *ran out of videos*.
Info: If you've beaten her once, you'll never forget how to beat her again if you've done 100% runs. The Spider Queen is the most replayed boss in the entire game, since even though you technically face her twice (here and the ark), there are 3 Bandit Spiders later in the game (N/S Ryoshima Coast and Kamui) that are taken down with the same technique. Regardless, it's a quick fight that most newbies could figure out (took me a while since my tv is so dark and couldn't see the hooks). It's possible to beat her without seeing all of her moves. I've heard you can also swing yourself on the vines for a better look, but I like to keep Ammy's four paws on the ground. Queeny gets in your grill a lot, but she's one of those "if you keep moving, you won't get hit" sort of enemies. Sitting in between her petals when attacking helps too (since you'll drop and not get swallowed). Beads are my weapon of choice here because of range, speed (good for godhood too), and how you can sometimes hit more than one.
Next video is the rematch with everyone's favourite half-baked prophet, Waka.
Nope, no references here (well, none intentional).
And not sure if you can tell, bloom has to be one of my least favourite brush techniques. Very pretty, but the game doesn't recognize the circle or the placement very well sometimes.
Ammy finds the last greensprout technique (after the idiot that was holding the controller finally found her way through the fairly LINEAR dungeon), vine, and is off to the top of the main room's statue. Not much here I'm afraid. This is the last video of the ruins, so hold onto your undies for the boss fight! Time to get some action!
Not much left to do in the ruins now. I got lost for a little while, but get on track again in the next video for the most part. Not sure HOW I get lost (seeing as this place doesn't have many side-paths), but I did.
PS: I know I repeated myself, but there are other similarities I forgot to mention (such as the mostly text-based dialogue style, optional side-quests, and villages with lots of interactable NPCs that for the most part have no useful information). Plus, the creators of the game apparently got some influence from those games. Notice how I'm not mentioning anything about Wolf Link (Twilight Princess, which came out a year after Okami AND I STILL WANT TO PLAY IT, DAMN IT ALL!), as Okami tends to have more similarities with older games like OOT. Enough of the Zelda talk, they both kick ass.
Next video is going to be capping off the last bits of business and travelling before getting to the first boss.
...what? July isn't too late to have your first AMV of the year. Well, technically this is more of a GMV (gaming music video), but no matter. This has got to be the fastest I've ever made a video with Vegas 0__0. About 4 days of actual work.
Read the article if you want to know some of the more specific details. I would fill this thing up too fast using the description.
Anyways, this is the story of Journey told from the perspective of the being in white as a call to a journey (the background of that journey...I can't say since the lore of Journey is kinda hazy). That's the TLDR version. I've noticed Journey is a very tough source to work with because it tells it's story through gameplay and environments as opposed to cutscenes. The entire playthrough I recorded was less than 90 minutes. I can guarantee you Final Fantasy 13's cutscenes are more than twice that length. So what I did was instead of recording cutscenes, I recorded EVERYTHING. This allows me to control what I edit with by using different movements, camera angles, etc. It's something really interesting I don't see as often (but when done right, oh man I've seen a really good SOTC video that did that).
Did I mention you should buy this game?
Song: The Voice

Brownie to the one that gets the reference. But yes, if I'm to have any serious gripe, it's the rolling physics in this game.
Well, I don't know what, but something happened to my game audio. Tested the source a million times with my microphone in and nothing like this happened. Thankfully, my speakers were pretty loud and the microphone caught a fair amount of sounds. I really didn't feel like recording for 40 minutes again.
Info: Tsuta Ruins is the home of the first boss, and can be considered as the first real dungeon. It's short, puzzles are easy and enemies aren't that hard (though bud ogres can be). You get a brush technique here, though I think you see it in the 3rd part of this area.
Not a particularly interesting fight (sub-bosses aren't usually that exciting, especially at this point in the game), but Waka is one interesting character.
Info: He may not look hard with my mammoth health units, but if I was starting a new game, I could've been dead in this fight (well, I'm also rather rusty and careless here). Waka doesn't give you too much slack and he has a wider variety of attacks than any enemy at this point. Flaming swords/arrows (a popular Okami enemy attack. I can name 3 other enemies off the top of my head that use them), slashes, and his sweeping charge can potentially kill newbs (he actually killed my only astral pouch when I played him for the first time) and how he can walk on water isn't exactly helping.
I don't want some boss parts to go over 10 minutes, so I trimmed down the cutscene by about a minute. Most of what I cut out was regarding stuff I told in the part before this anyways (rest was basically Waka saying how Ammy is weaker now and how the fight was disappointing. Pfft, well, if I was using the string of beads, I'm sure he'll disagree).
Sorry about the quality, but Vegas really seems to hate my recorded footage. It either won't accept it at all, or give me the "red frames of death" on some areas. Had to run it through WMM first. I'm still experimenting.
Still working on the title for this. "Raggs Plays Okami" seems fitting, but it's not a full LP. Bah, whatever.
Well, here we are with my first Okami video recorded with Easycap (which has become my new toy lol). I'm still working out some decent settings for recording, since even though the quality is pretty good, Vegas doesn't seem to like MPG files (and for some reason, WMM does). Did the same for my Sly Cooper ladder video. And for those that didn't get the memo, this is being recorded directly from my PS2 and not on an emulator like Spyro was.
This isn't an actual part since there are no bosses or dungeons included (which is the main idea of me playing). With responses from my input video, people showed positive response to showing some cutscenes and summarizing the story. Since there is about 1-2 hours or so of gameplay included at this point with NO BOSSES, I decided to make one video to include it all. There is a huge gap between the beginning and Waka (the first sub-boss), and I promise you that the gaps aren't THIS big. Waka's fight isn't that hard with my health the way it is, but I'll just include the cutscenes before/after the fight anyways.
A bit late (well, 3 minutes), but I blame Vegas for taking it's sweet-ass time rendering. 45 minutes for 2 minutes of movie? That's horrible x__x.
Anyways, this was mostly my idea because neither of us had anything that made sense with the footage we had. Had to stick with my backwards random perspective flipping idea lol. The focus here is on the relationships with Kiba and his pack, as well as with Mew (in the brighter clips). Come on, after ep 20, Kiba FINALLY gets his nose out of the flower smell and gives his boys props. Ya, you could say that this video has a little bit of a "bros before hoes" thing going on, especially if said "hoe" is a weird Caracal lady we don't really learn much about 0-0 (well, I guess it adds to her mystique). Possk did most of the pack clips while I did the garden parts.
I did 30 seconds of AMV in 1 hour *super proud of self*. Also, I was a complete nut with editing the music. There must've been 4-5 cuts in the song to get it the way I wanted lol. Also WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME YOU CAN ECHO IN VEGAS?
Laaaaaaaaaaast again. Well, at least we weren't uploading at the very last minute. Everything seems to happen each round. Possk was away down south for about a week in round 1, evil homework attacked her in round 2, and I was up north for 5 days this round. Vegas and AIM didn't really help either. Weak!
Like with last round, this is mainly Possk's idea. It started out as just Charlie video, but seeing as the movie doesn't have a lot of scenes that do justice to his initial "out for #1 attitude", we brought in Carface too. Plus, Carface needs love too *nods*. Even though the song is about a different/better kind of selfishness (it's not a crime to look out for yourself sometimes), we fudged it to be about Charlie and Carface's greed and how it affected other characters (Carface basically tried to screw everyone over, but I focused more on Charlie than Itchy, Killer, and Anne Marie). It was the closest thing we had to a focus other than my idea of a lulzy Georgette video lol.
Most clips of Charlie are done by Possk, and Carface was with me. Naturally we switched it up a little bit.
The song is very strange to edit with. I can't say either of us were fans of it, but we just kept on truckin'. We couldn't find a nice long string of parts we could do, so I had to do a bit of jumpy editing. 3 cuts, plus it didn't start from the beginning. I hate editing like that, but meh. What we DO like was the line "God damn I love me", since it basically summed up everything, so we had to include that. Charlie's expression says "Fuck yes I'm hot stuff" (...and he is *cough*).

Theme: Desire
A few minutes late, but I doubt Balco would mind. Of course after all the panic, it seems like Splitty and Fire are getting a few more days and Possk and I were scared for finishing tonight to the point where I did the last second for her lol.
This was mostly Possk's idea. We focused on the Elric Brothers' desire to become whole again (and in turn, desire for the Philosopher Stone), mostly with Ed because it was his misjudging that caused them to turn out this way. Human transmutation is what got them there (for those that don't know, the "recipe" in the beginning is what makes an adult human), and they had to search and study for years for what is missing. That also meant looking for the infamous Philosopher Stone, an object with immense power that they hope to use to replace Al's body and Ed's arm and leg. That didn't make much sense, did it? Bah, just watch the video and you'll most likely get it. It's midnight, I've been editing for hours, and I'm stuffed with mashed potatoes.
AL, GET OUT OF THE WAY! YOU'RE IN FRONT OF ANOTHER SEX-ED THUMBNAIL!
Well, Possk and I are rather unsure how far we'll get, but here it is. This is our first (and possibly only) video for BalcoZero's collab tourney. Just our luck we get paired up with them *still hiding under table with Possk*
This is an ultimate video of AAAAAAAAAANGST! Basically, we took several characters suffering from inner conflicts, like Lucy and her instinct to kill whispering in her ear, Matt being pushed to fight with Tai (note the crest of friendship flickering red), and Greed battling with Ling's humanity (literally a fight inside lol). Not much to say except Vegas decided to make my fades extremely sharp and my flashes are dimmed. Plus, the fact that (like in I Walk Alone), I had to rely on "instinct" and edit with a preview window that didn't work most of the time.
See? I wasn't just talking big when I said I would finish this. If you want to get most/all of the angles from this video, read on.
This is a revisit to an idea I had waaaaay back when I only edited using 4 sources. It was meant to be a bit of a commercial/trailer/preview to my studio and showing every bit of footage I have. Each footage source had it's own little section and it became very balanced. I revisted it once in 2008 (just before I merged with RockDawg), but the format was more like a general AMV and not something really special. I was planning to revisit the idea again (using a similar format as before) using Nara, but that just...didn't happen. This song I could manipulate more anyways.
Oh boy, I'm tempted to make a rambling video to describe every angle and thought I put into this video. Really, so much thought and organization was put into this video, and I'm quite proud how it turned out. I don't sleep much by the way.
A bulk of this video wouldn't have been created without reading the song's creator's blog (http://blog.christophertin.com/2008/0...). He described the song being broken up into the seasons, and the lyrics and singers reflected the said season. What I did was break up my footage sources into seasons, give each season a colour and a texture. Changes in attitude and pattern indicate a transition between seasons (like yellow and red means summer to fall). I also made my own personal spin and including the gypsy singers, drummers, and dancers to build up from the end of spring to "The Dance Of The Seasons" as well as other things done with my own personal interpretation of this beautiful song. This is the way I organized things.
Spring:
0:00-0:54
Green
Flowers
Summer:
0:54-1:25
Yellow
Dry grass
Fall:
1:25-2:16
Red
Leaves
Dance Of The Seasons:
2:16-2:40
Represents falling of leaves (ie the smaller clips) and last celebrations before the dead of winter.
Winter:
2:40-3:22
Blue
Ice
Conclusion:
3:22-3:54
Showing of every clip. The show movies are piled onto the regular show.
Return To Spring:
3:54-4:24
Green
Using the first footage source from every season and then ending back at spring.
All textures used in this video I created by taking various pictures of nature.
I don't make sub videos, but thanks for watching, commenting, and just enjoying my videos. I don't reply to every comment, but I try to read them all and give a silent thanks. You can almost consider this as a typical "Thank you" from the Raggs to you.

Theme: 'TALLICAAAAAAAAAAA
Well, what sort of witchcraft is this new footage? As those who have seen the collections video, recently I got The Plague Dogs on DVD. It was originally set to make it's debut in the completed Madokara Mieru (being in the "winter" segment), but that's not finished yet. Well, it gets it's debut in an exclusive beta.
This is a very experimental video. It's my first where just about every clip has a filter, I used text and voices more than I ususally do, stuff like that. Plus, the combination was perhaps among the most challenging I've ever used (TPD, a movie that is pretty much dead and depressing the entire way through, being done with a pre-Black-Album song).
Ok, I went through a lot of thought with this video so read it well. This song is most likely about something along the lines of "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". A Sanitarium is a hospital for chronic conditions, such as mental illnesses. Snitter and Rowf may not be insane, but their situation I found had certian parallels to the book and song. For one thing, it's a bitch to real life (as well as to my psychology course. Fuck, how do people honestly support the bullshit that is the mental health field?). I don't wear any rose-coloured glasses, and these all point to the same conclusion. Rejection, death, alienation for no fucking good reason, backstabbing, having it be a crime to be yourself (whether you're an animal or just a little bit weird) and being "fixed" until there is nothing "you" left (which leads to bad things, namely supression and rage), GAH! Ya, it's a little hard to explain, but my mind is weird. I know many therapists and councellors want to lock me up for it :3.
To explain farther, the filter was used for good reason. Hospitals are places that are very clean (trust me, I've seen the cleaning schedules for even in my college's clinic), but it's just to hide the dirt on it's soul (*coughbrownfilter*). The Sanatarium in the video represents two parties: the research facility and the identical brutal nature of reality (the Todd, which represents that dark, emotionless, kill-or-be-killed attitude). Snitter and Rowf escape the facility, but they're met with a crueler reality. Their only means of refuge is an island Snitter sees, though they never reach it.
vs TenrouFang (WON)
Theme: Apocalyptica's "Worlds Collide" album
I'll admit that this album is amazing, but it was so hard to find a song I was confident with. TenrouFang can say all she wants on how she's screwed in this match-up, but she has the ability to pull off some good stuff (you better be reading this, girl lol). I needed something good, which was hard to do with this album (none of the lyrical songs fit anything I had), so I had to fudge it a little with my favourite of the lot (which happens to be among the hardest).
Takato, my good goggle-headed friend, you do rage very well. This video basically focuses on episodes 34-36, my favourite Digimon battle ever. Takato (the quietest and least confident of all the goggle-heads) loses his mind at Beelze(bu)mon's betrayl, wanting him dead and has no forgiveness. His anger sends Guilmon into a frenzy, and lashes out as Megidramon. I know he does become sorry (for Guilmon) at that point, but even as Dukemon/Gallantmon he's still out for revenge until Juri/Julie stops him.
