When I love something with a great passion, I just want nothing else but more of it. It's just like movies, everyone bitches if a movie is too long, but I say a 2-3 hour movie is too short because the film is rushing to make it to the end, there's not enough screen time for all the characters, and the experience is a bit slim despite how well made the film actually is. Of course you can't finish a 4-5 hour movie, so why not just stop, take a break, and watch more of it from where you last left off later? You can't finish many video games, books, and an entire tv series in a single day, you have to stop and return to it later so why do we have to have a need to finish movies so quickly? See what I mean by me asking for more than what I got? I'm a really greedy individual. And like every gamer, I can never be 100% satisfied because there's at least a video game series where it didn't have enough sequels while others just have more than enough to hog up the spotlight. That's why I've made videos like "Jak 4 Must be Made," "Gex 4 Must Be Made," continuously hope that Oddworld would make another installment, and SO many more! I know that I shouldn't be greedy because I'm in a comic book school and I'm engaged, but the thing I ask for the most is just happiness. So if there was a chance to make only one wish to come true, [just one], this is the only thing that I want so badly than anything else (except for getting a wonderful career, keep loved ones alive, and get married).

NUMBER 1. - A GREAT VIDEO GAME BASED ON TERMINATOR 1 & 2!
I bet you all are wondering, out of all the wishes that I wish could come true, why make a video game adaptation of a movie? Because Terminator 2: Judgement Day is simply THE perfect movie ever! Out of all the movies that I've watched the most, it had to be T2 because the characters were some of the deepest and most developed that I've ever seen, the action and special effect look so timeless, and the story is some of the best told in a film. I remember watching Terminator 2 for the first time when I was visiting relatives in the Philippines and I was flipping channels till I came across seeing Terminator 2! I remember watching that opening sequence of the war with the Terminators that fucking blew my mind as a child and then the great opening credit scene that simply pulled you in awe! Keep in mind that I never heard of Terminator before at age 9 and it was great that you DON'T have to watch the original to know what's going on in the sequel. It was also scary for me to watch as a kid because the way the T-800 kicked all the biker's ass in the bar, John Connor was some of the most dangerous kids I've ever seen, Sarah Connor was so psycho that it was unbelievably freakish, and the T 1-000… OH SHIT! He was the most intimidating character that I've ever seen in my life! I would LOVE to tell you why I fucking love Terminator 2 with a mighty passion, but I would just be repeating what whataculture.com has already said and I would be here all day!
Still to this day, I have never see a better movie than Terminator 2, or even aged perfectly as well as Terminator 2 did. As good as T2 fucking was, I still can't get enough of it because of my issues of the standard time limit in movies! Hell not even the Terminator 2: Judgement Day Extreme DVD, that had deleted scenes added to the movie to increase the length of the film, is still not enough!
What's even worse is the sequels after Terminator 2 were bastardization of the whole my those of the Terminator universe and wannabes of the original two films! I seriously wished that James Cameron didn't give up on the franchise because the last thing he did that was Terminator related was the Terminator 2: 3D Battle Across Time ride at Universal Studios!
For me, THIS IS THE BEST 3D RIDE IN, not only Universal Studios theme park, BUT IN ALL OF THEME PARK RIDES EVER!!!! This REALLY felt like a True Terminator 3 movie and I would just die for this ride to be a full length fucking film instead of that pile of shit that's called Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines… (BARF!!!)
You're supposed to tell me, that this T-X sex symbol terminator is more powerful than the intimidating, evil, and merciless T-1000?!?!? Get the fuck out of here with this shit! Plus, why does John Connor in Terminator 3 has less balls than the kid John Connor in Terminator 2? It's pitiful to see how much of a molten mess Terminator 3 was. I never felt this disappointed as I seeing Jurassic Park III for the first time and that stupid Spinosaurus! Even worse, we had to get stupid-voice Batman… I mean Christian Bale to be John Connor in the Terminator Salvation movie…
As horrid as Terminator 3 was, Salvation is much worse. The dialog in the movie was so awful, the world of the Terminator apocalypse is so filthy and less sci-fi that it looked nothing like the future from the original two Terminator movies. Terminator Salvation is NOT a true Terminator movie, it's a Fallout 3 film mixed with Transformers that was doomed for sequel bate. The only thing that I liked from Terminator Salvation is the CGI T-800 from the original movie.
Even Arnold Schwarzenagger himself thought that Terminator Salvation sucked. So can you see my frustration with the franchise as a whole. I wasn't old enough to even get to experience what Terminator 2 was like when it was released in Theaters, but hearing from all those who experienced it, it must of have been the best time to be a movie fan. So can you see where I'm coming from in obsessing over Terminator 1 & 2 for so damn long? Just like Aliens, Predator, and Star Wars, they used to meant something! They were science fiction masterpieces that proved that you can make a wonderful story by taking us into the unknown and display such badass scenes that will forever be indented in our memories. Even my fiancé agrees with me that Terminator 2 is really the best movie of all time. I seriously doubt that the next Terminator film will ever be half as good as the original two because
- Arnold Schwarzenagger seriously lost his physical appearance and it can't be the same, with or without him
- James Cameron is just too tight with Avatar franchise
- Every scene of the next film is trying to reminisce about the older films instead of creating new iconic scenes, like last two Terminator movies (fucking Hollywood)
- Nobody can play as good as a Terminator and thus no one can take over Schwarzenagger's place.
- Nobody can play as either John Connor or Kyle Reese from the originals
- Side characters from Salvation were all 1-Dimentional
- There's more input on CGI over practical effects in our modern era
- The mystery of Skynet is ruined
- No one has made a good fictional sci-fi war story since Aliens (another James Cameron movie)
So with all the bastardizations and impossibilities that Terminator 5 could even deliver, the only thing that can ever be good from this franchise again is to finally have a good Terminator 2 game.
I'm going to say it loud and clear, it's not fair that the Terminator franchise doesn't have a single great game. I'm serious, even the one that people call best Terminator games like...
... were good, but they are not "great" unfortunately. The Sega CD version had a great soundtrack but the gameplay is so basic and boring that you can simply speed run the entire game without killing an enemy. Does that sound like a good game to you? I did mention Terminator for DOS in my Sandbox Genre, and Gaming in the 90's - 1990, and as revolutionary as that game for being the first ever Sandbox game, but unfortunately the controls are so obsolete and the pacing of the game is the worst I've ever seen. Future Shock was good, but the problem is that the controls are so sluggish, the enemy variety is so unimaginative, and the challenge is just so basic that I get bored after a few hours. The only thing that was the closest to be a "great" Terminator game is Terminator 3: The Redemption. The title of the game is very self-explanatory because it was SO much better than the movie it was based on. The first couple of levels felt exactly like the future from the Terminator movies! I swear, at that point in time, the beginning of the game of how did the T-800 made it to the time machine and Kate Connor reprogrammed Arnie to be a good Terminator was some of the best things that I've seen from the Terminator franchise since the release of the Terminator 2 movie. Take a look at this link to the video and I dare you to tell me that this is not what you want to play because you really want to play a game exactly like this one! The only problem with Terminator 3: The Redemption is that since it was based on the movie, the future warfare only lasted in the first hour of the game while the rest you have to relive the entire movie into a full length game, that sucks!
Honestly, one of the worst games that I've ever fucking played was…
It's a real insult to me that there are sickos like LJN that made a game adaption of my most beloved entity ever and make a cruel, sick joke out of it. The game play is horrid, it's hard to kill a person, and the driving sequences are impossible to beat. I never seen a movie franchise that has produced a lot of video games and the majority of them suck so hard that it's insultingly bad. It's unfair that Aliens had a bunch of great games, Predator had Predator: Concrete Jungle which was a real Predator game, and Star Wars had countless great games that truly satisfied Star Wars fans everywhere. Seriously, many of the games from Star Wars either told a different story but in the same universe or retold the same story but extended it to a fulfilling experience that actually got Star Wars fans to be really satisfied. The Terminator mythos is so well crafted and action packed that it is easily a great idea for a video game, but since the 1980's when the franchise had their first video game, (except the four that I mentioned) they all fucking sucked! I'm sick and tired of seeing so many developers of the years working on these Terminator licenses and not even have the heart to pull it off. So very often you hear the recent Aliens: Colonial Marines game to be disappointing, well I fell the exact same way whenever a bad Terminator game is released.
So when it comes to how to make a "great Terminator Game" this is what I really want .
- Instead of making a game adaptation of Terminator 1 & 2 to be separate games, why not just make both of them into one singular video game! Just like Die Hard Trilogy or Aliens trilogy!
- Make this game into a sandbox like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas so we can highjack any vehicle, use any weapons, and go to so many places not seen in the movies.
- Get Arnold Schwartzenagger to voice act the game as the good and bad Terminator
- Follow both of the stories just as we seen them from the movies but add a lot of filler and missions so that we can experience more of what the movies can never offer.
- Make a great story of the events that has happened between Terminator 1 & 2 and see what did Sarah Connor had to face to keep young John Connor alive.
- The game should start with Kyle Reese trying to get into the time machine in the future.
- Save Sarah Connor from the original T-800 with many more encounters than the original movie
- Have a lot of enemy variety like the police and also other great variety of Terminators (not just more T-800s) that also made it through the time machine to kill John Connor and his allies.
- Show us what has happened between T1 & T2 and give us mission varieties that involved Sarah protecting very young John Connor after he was born and encounter Kyle Reese's friends who actually did make it pass through the time portal just like the Dark Horse comic books!
- Let us be able to play as Kyle Reese, Sarah Connor, and the good Terminator from T2 (and also John Connor but he can't use any weapons).
- Give us plenty of flashbacks of Kyle Reese and the good Terminator of their battles in the future and make it more awesome than Terminator 3: The Redemption.
- There should be futuristic weapons that enemies from the future has brought it and we should be able to use them against all obstacles.
- Give us puzzle variety and mission variety that helps prevent the Skynet from happening instead of just keeping John Connor alive.
- There should be a couple of missions that time-warps us into the future just like Terminator 2: 3D Battle Across Time.
- Give us a very extended final act from Terminator 1 & Terminator 2 so that it can be the best game ever!
- Exclude Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation out of this game!
I've always hide my ideas from the public, but this is the one idea that I REALLY want someone to steal and make it possible! It would be really fucking fantastic if you guys send this link to any video game developer and make it happen! I've always wanted to see a video game just like this one. Though I will never get myself a Xbox One, PS4, or Wii U, but if someone decided to release this perfect Terminator game for any of those systems, then I would actually buy that system for no other reason than to get that game! I mean take a look at the up coming Mad Max game! It's based on a really old and popular movie and year later it looks like a promising video game adaptation. Hell, look at Ghostbusters: The Video Game! For many years the franchise never had a great game until 2009 and it made fans everywhere happy! And whenever I see games like that getting a great adaptation it always makes me wonder, why I doesn't Terminator get the same treatment? There are still fans all around the world that still loves Terminator with a mighty passion as I do, so why not just make a great game for us fans? There are still movie fans out there that wishes that they could have a great game adaptation from their favorite movies and there's no other movie franchise that's still in need of a good game than Terminator!
