Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters first impression

The first episode aired this morning so I quickly found and watched it. It was un subbed so I couldn't understand them very well I still found it very enjoyable. The references to power rangers where cool, the spy theme made me like the costumes, and the CG is much better this time around. When the subbed episode is out I will re watch it them maybe be able to give more details.

Boochow Radio Podcast - Episode 25 รข€“ Indie Gaming vs. Mainstream

download mp3 Boochow Radio Podcast - Episode 25 รข€“ Indie Gaming vs. Mainstream

This is Episode 25 of the Boochow Radio Podcast and in this episode we have Amuia back from his absence from the last episode. And the special guests of this episode are SuperWorldJumper & AQReviews. In this episode we do the regular routine of going through the news, the games we are now playing, and the Video Game Releases of the Month.

Afterwords, we go through the Video Game Topic of the Day. Our Video Game Topic of the Day is does รขIndie Gaming Have What It Takes To Take On The Mainstream?รข This is a serious topic about a video game scene that does not have a huge budget, commercial or attention, nor do they have the best technology to develop such games. But with those disadvantages, they do have full creative control and so much pros that mainstream developers doesnรขt have. So in this topic, we discuss the pros, the cons, and our favorite indie games that weรขve played as recommendations to everyone listening to this episode.

Then finally in our Dropped the Controls Segment, which is the รขBatman Films.รข Weรขre going to discuss in order chronologically about each Batman movie - Both Live-Action and Animated. We want to talk about the Batman films due to our winner of the Boochow 2011 Awardsรข Game of the 2011: Batman Arkham City. We are going to be very-open about what we love and dislike about each Batman film so keep in mind that these are just our opinions, so donรขt get upset when you disagree with anyone of us. We are of course going to start with Batman: The Movie all the way to the latest movie that weรขve seen, Batman: Under the Red Hood. Then weรขll briefly talk about what weรขre excited for in the next anticipated Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. Sorry that we couldnรขt answer any of your letters regarding to Boochow, but we will try to answer your questions next time. Hope you enjoy this episode!

Genesis Boxing games part 2 (Evander Holyfield)

I am not proud of this review! I easily consider it my WORST and would recommend skipping it. The score was 3/5
On October 25, 1990 James Buster Douglas had lost the title on his first defense against Evander The Real Deal Holyfield so he got a game to. This review is not nearly as good as I was hoping but after many failed recordings I just scraped together whatever I could. I give this video the same score as the game. Also listen for the MJC2021 reference.

Platinum Platformer Awards 2011 (FINAL PART)

BEFORE WATCHING, PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BOX!

Please watch Part 1 & 2 before watching Part 3 of the Platinum Platformer Awards 2011

This episode was brought to you by the Boochow 2011 Awards!

Now that we're in the last part of the Platinum Platformer Awards 2011, it's time to finish this award show. We got a total of 4 rounds in one video.

Round 6 I judge on how long the platform game is actually. The best ones in history had some of the most gameplay hours and at times the biggest replay value. But at the same time there are still Platformers today that are too short, ruins the experience and cannot be considered to be the greatest of all time.

In the 7th Round, I'm going to judge each of the standing games based on their difficulty or challenge. The rules are, the least difficult or challenging game is the one eliminated. I believe the best platformer has to provide great challenge in which is very lacking in a lot of games today.

Then in the 8th Round, I judge on creativity, which the least creative game is the eliminated. This is tough because the ones still standing in this competition has their level of creativity and it is the most difficult round to judge for me. But I had to make this round short due to the fact that we NEED to get to the Final Round!

And finally THE FINAL ROUND OF THE PLATINUM PLATFORMER AWARDS 2011! I want to be very clear, this is my opinion! I know that I upset a lot of people with my decisions in the other rounds. Just to let you know that not everyone has the same opinion as every other and since this is my award show; this is my official decision of my favorite Platformer of 2011.

Thank you all for watching this years Platinum Platformer Awards, see you in the PPA 2012, and stay tuned for my upcoming videos!

Platinum Platformer Awards 2011 (Part 2)

Before watching this video please watch the first part of the Platinum Platformer Awards.

Continuing on from what was left off from Part 1, in part 2 of the Platinum Platformer Awards 2010, we cover Rounds 3, 4, & 5 in one video. On the third round we judge the most important thing in Platformers; of course, [platforming!] XD How much fun & exciting it actually is just jumping & landing on platformers and how many new ideas did the game offered in their platforming segments.

On the forth round I judge on innovation. Let's be honest, Platformers have offered more innovation in the past than any other genre out there. That's why almost every one of them is very from each other. But here I judge on how different it looks compared to other platformers out in the past and how much it stretches and expands the genre as a whole.

Lastly on Round 5 I judge on collectibles because some of the best platformers of all time had some of the most rewarding collectibles in which it makes completing the game with 100% completion worth a damn. The one with the least rewarding & least amount of collectibles is out of the competition.

This is an independent internet award event dedicated to only Platformers. In which any kind of [good] platformer can be in this award show - 2D Platformer, Metroidvania, Cinematic Platformer, 3D Platformer, Puzzle-Platformer, just as long as they have jumping and numerous of platformer to land on. Hope you enjoy this one and please don't get easily offended on my opinions because I'm being VERY critical in judging these nominees as the best Platformer of 2011. That is all

Rocket: Robot on Wheels review

Click here to watch Episode 23 of the Boochow Radio Podcast!

Hey! Does anyone know that Sucker Punch Productions has made a game before Sly Cooper? Here it is Rocket: Robot on Wheels, regarded by many as the most underrated Nintendo 64 game. Here in this review examine what Rocket shares in common with many 3D Platformers at the time and also the innovations, creativity, and originality the set itself apart from being generic. This is a very interesting look at retro gaming because it has a lot of innovations that we all take for granted today in gaming. This review will show every Nintendo 64 owners why this game is worthy enough to be in anyone's Nintendo 64 collection!

And before anything else, makes sure you check out Hannu "The Hande" Mรคkinen's channel and subscribe to him because he worked hard on this review with me. He's my favorite YouTuber on the whole website offering original reviews and Top 10 lists that's so entertaining to watch!
http://www.youtube.com/user/HandeToon

Now that we're on the last part of the Monkey Island series review, Hannu and I are going to do two game into one; The Escape from Monkey Island and Tales of Monkey Island.

We start with Escape from Monkey Island where it's the biggest change to the series, not because the series made it to 3D, but it abandoned the point-and-click gameplay and focused on key-board interfaced adventure gameplay like Grim Fandango. It's a love or hate thing, but check out weather we like it or not.

Afterwords, we review Tales of Monkey Island where it has been 9 long years without a Monkey Island game, since LucasArts abandoned making anymore adventure games and focused more on Star Wars games, instead the game was developed from Telltale Games who carried on the adventure game genre. Unlike the rest of the Monkey Island games, it's released episodically and returned the point-and-click gameplay.

We all hoped that you enjoyed our reviews on each game of Monkey Island series, be sure check out the latest episode of Boochow and Hannu's YouTube page.

Monkey Island reviews (Part 3) -The Curse of Monkey Island

Before watching this video please, watch Part 2 of the Monkey Island review series.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sM1ntxu6B4&lc=rk6HuW_9-kHdryuYWuAQvn5VLar...

Finally we are in Part 3 of the Monkey Island review series and Hannu and I are going to review what we consider one of our favorite adventure games of all time, The Curse of Monkey Island. We want an entire part of this review series to be on just one game because it pays a significant part to the adventure game genre because as a sequel to the series, it not only improved on everything on past games but when an extra mile in creating such a terrific game. It was 6 years since the last Monkey Island game was created and now here in Curse of Monkey Island, using the best technology at the time, LucasArts put in everything to create such an awesome game. They added better quality of music, better engine and graphics, terrific puzzle challenges, and some of the best voice acting that you can ever find from games back in the 90's. Check this review and see why we LOVE this game and see why it deserves much more appreciation!

UPDATE: We're almost done with the Monkey Island series reviews so we're making Part 4 into two games into one review just so I can catch up with the videos that I'm heavily on scheduled to do. So stay tuned for Escape from Monkey Island and Tales of Monkey Island coming soon!

Monkey Island reviews (Part 2) - Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge & Special Editions

Before watching this video please, watch Part 1 of the Monkey Island review series.

After watching this video Click This Link to watch Part 3

As a continuation of our Monkey Island series review, here in Part 2 Hannu and I are going to review Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge and the Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge: Special Editon. First we review Monkey Island 2 and keep in mind that our views on this game is just our opinions so please don't take this review too seriously because we have a bunch of problems with it. And next we review the Special Editions of Secret of Monkey Island & Monkey Island 2. We examine the major differences LucasArts has made with both of the Special Editions; looking at the graphical improvements, voice-acting, soundtrack, and other changes & features offered in this game. We're going to say it right now, if you haven't played either one of the Special Editions, buy it now it's worth all your time experiencing such a hilarious adventure game series despite the fact that we both chose one of the first two Monkey Island games over the other.

Till next time, in Part 3 we take a look at The Curse of Monkey Island and see why it's considered by many as the best point-and-click-adventure game ever created!

Also, be sure to check out Hannu "The Hande" Makenin's youtube channel and you can see why he's my favorite YouTuber on this site. He's funny, he makes very original picks for Top 10 Lists, and just down right fun!

Monkey Island reviews (Part 1) - The Secret of Monkey Island

This is the beginning of reviews of the Monkey Island series where I chronologically review each and every game of the Monkey Island series. I'm joined by my favorite YouTuber, Hannu "The Hande" Makenin. Hannu is a long time fan of the series and it's a honor to review these games with him. This is where it all began; The Secret of Monkey Island. As I said, I'm reviewing all the Monkey Island game chronologically which means I'll also be reviewing Monkey Island 2, the Special Editions, The Curse of Monkey Island, Escape from Monkey Island, and Tales of Monkey Island. Keep in mind that these reviews are unscripted because I'm pressed for time and I've always wanted to review this series for quite some time.
I am of course reviewing the Amiga version instead of the Special Editions which almost everybody prefers. Like how I did with the Sly series, I instead want to give appreciation & recognition to this classic and show everyone what the original is like rather than ignoring the history and pay attention to the one with better graphics. This game is a lot of fun, very challenging, very funny, adventurous, incredibly creative, and overall an excellent game. If you haven't played any Monkey Island game yet, it's HIGHLY recommended to play the Secret of Monkey Island.

Also, be sure to check out Hannu "The Hande" Makenin's youtube channel and you can see why he's my favorite YouTuber on this site. He's funny, he makes very original picks for Top 10 Lists, and just down right fun!

Sly & Us - Part 2 (Sly Collection & Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time)

Before watching this video please watch Part 1 of this Vlog first!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIOUk12uOTw

Now here in Part 2, Amuia and I discuss about the Sly Collection that was released a year ago and what we think of the collection itself. Then we give off our thoughts of Sly: Thieves in Time. Keep in mind that this video was made before I went to the Tokyo Game Show 2011 and actually tried the Sly demo there, so with that being said we're only discussing about what we know of the game at that time. So we're pumped and highly anticipated to play Sly 4: Thieves in Time when it comes out.

Sly & Us - Part 1 (Sly Trilogy PS2)

DECLAIMER - we made a lot of mistakes in this Vlog. I mispronounce Jean Bison, we forgot many of the characters names, and we missed alot of things in this video, but we don't care about it nor do we want to hear about what mistakes we've made because we now know about them and we CAN'T change a single thing in this Vlog, so please enjoy this video without having any complaints. And keep in mind that are plenty of "SPOILERS" if you haven't played the game, so be warned.

Here in this Vlog, I'm joined with my best friend Amuia and as promised, we're going to review the Sly series in chronological order. Since the Vlog took over 30 minutes we can only divide the Vlog in to two parts. Here in Part 1 Amuia and I are making a brief overview of each game of the trilogy on the Playstation 2. In Part 2 we cover up the Sly Collection and then give off our opinions on the up-coming Sly 4: Thieves in Time.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves review

This is my last co-op review with my good friend, Zookstar1000 as it the last Sly game on the PS2 to review. Finally in Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, we take a close look at how Sucker Punch handled the third game of the Sly series as they managed to put SO much features all in a Playstation 2 Game! They've added new playable characters, better missions & objectives, gameplay features borrowed from other game genres, and so much more that made itself one of, if not, the best game in the PS2 library! Could this really be the best Sly game in the series? Check out this review on Sly 3 with gexup and Zookstar (again)!

Zookstar1000 Already reviewed Sly 3 on his channel, so please be sure to check that video out!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcUitIniB8I

Since Zookstar1000 did so much work on this review, he deserves most of the credit done in this review. Please be sure to check out his channel, subscribe to him, and give him your support! Thanks a ton for your help, Zook!

http://www.youtube.com/user/Zookstar1000

Later in a couple of days, I'll soon post a Vlog of me discussing about the Sly games with my best friend Amuia as a promise to him to review his favorite series with me. So stay tuned for more videos in this month of October!

Sly 2: Band of Thieves review

(Part 2 out of 3 Sly Games review) Once again I'm joined by Zookstar1000 and before you watch this review, PLEASE watch our review on Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus review
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-uqrv6JD7c

Now that we're at the sequel, Sucker Punch made a drastic change to the series with not only improving the stealth & platforming gameplay, but make this game a sandbox game a swell with new playable characters such as Murray and Bentley. This game is bigger, darker, longer, and more action-packed than it's prequel. Together, Gexup & Zookstar take a very close look at the second Sly game as it continued the innovative blend between 3D Platforming with the Stealth-Action genre. Also, be sure to stay tuned for the last Sly games of the trilogy to review and a Vlog with Amuia & Gexup coming right up afterwards. We still remained on showing the PS2 version to give respect to our favorite console and show everyone what it's like.
Also be sure to check out Zookstar1000's channel and check out all of his videos. Give him support and please subscribe to this wonderful reviewer

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus review

(Part 1 out of 3 Sly Games review) FINALLY! This is my VERY first Co-op review on Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, the first review out of the 3 Sly games to review. Unfortunately, my buddy Amuia couldn't join with me in this review because he doesn't have the time to finish just one review because of his job and collage. Waiting for him already slowed me down this entire September, and I couldn't wait any longer because this entire month I was absent.
So I decided to get someone else to replace him and it's Zookstar1000, one of my favorite reviewers. He's an expert on the Sly series and having him on board is a no brainer.
Together, Gexup & Zookstar take a very close look at the first Sly game as it offered an innovative blend between old-school 3D Platforming with the Stealth-Action genre. This is a true Playstation 2 classic and it deserves more attention to everyone of all ages. It game is filled with challenging, but fun gameplay, clever level designs, laughs, and more. This is where the most overlooked series first started. What better way to show appreciation and promote the up coming Sly 4 than reviewing the first Sly game. Also, be sure to stay tuned for the next Sly games to review and a Vlog with Amuia & Gexup afterwards. And before you ask, this is Playstation 2 footage, not from the Sly Collection on the PS3, though it is a VALUABLE collection and it has clearer picture, we want to show what the game really is like on the Playstation 2.
Also be sure to check out Zookstar1000's channel and check out all of his videos. Give him support and please subscribe to this wonderful reviewer

Vlog 9/18/11 - Tokyo Game Show 2011

Well I'm joined with my brother who wants to do an observation with me on today's trip to the Tokyo Game Show 2011. It was a fun time, but it could have been better if Amuia came with us. BTW, before you ask why I haven't posted the review of any of the Sly games yet, well, ask Amuia because all I'm doing is waiting for him to finish his job with the review.
Also, be sure to check out our trip to last year's Tokyo Game Show 2010 & see how much we've struggled to get any footage, which is the reason why my brother and I are going a Vlog.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUNhP_a6CtE

There are laughs, rants, and surprises in this Vlog. If you're wondering what soundtrack I'm using for this video, it's from a video game called "The Neverhood," awesome soundtrack, all rights reserved to DreamWorks Interactive.

Vexx Review

Well, it's been quite some time since I've done a review on a 3D Platformer so I decided to review one of my favorites that has been forgotten over the years, Vexx. Vexx is MUCH more than what critics gives it because never have I encountered a 3D Platformer that has AWESOME gameplay, level design, and everything else that fulfills my expectation as a veteran of the genre. Not to mention that this game has some of the toughest platforming that you can find in any game nowadays. If you ask what version of Vexx did I record, it's the Gamecube version, but regardless of what system you play this game on, it's still basically the same game and that's what all multiplatform games must do. There's a good reason why this game is in my Top 20 3D Platformer List and this review explains why. I appreciate all the effort that was put in this game because it really did put my platforming skill to its test, even though Vexx kinda did bit much inspiration from Mario 64, but still saying that only the platforming is hard should mean something to all of you guys that are interested in the genre.

Video Game Genre - Fighting Games

(Episode 6) In this episode of Video Game Genres, we take a look at one of the most popular and socializing game genres ever. This is a genre that focuses more on action on one or more various opponents that takes time and skill in beating anyone that stands in your way. It doesn't exactly have an adventure like other action video games, but sets you immediately to fight against an opponent set in a stage limited with such room, health, and move sets. Thus in the longest episode of the Video Game Genres series, I'll be taking a close look at the origins of the genre, games that defined the genre and changed everything, how a fighting exactly works when playing any of them, things in common towards all fighting games, naming the subgenres, negatives, and more. Still to this day, Fighting Games have been the number 1 pick up and play competitive gameplay that grew a rapid wild audience around the world. Since fighting games kinda went downhill in the 90's and struggled to get back to the top as the best competitive gameplay in the industry. My duty is to promote this video game genre and show you guys what many of these games have to offer; challenging, intense battle with CPU or other players.

I can't believe that this whole episode is nearly 30 minutes and I plan not to make a review this long ever again, but for this episode of Video Game Genres, it must be this long because of how much elements and features that needs to be discussed, plus all the videos that needed to be recorded. Really, it was this very video that was the reason why I haven't posted a video in almost over a month. It was a VERY hard video to make and I did it because it's been a very long time since there was an episode of this video series so I hope it was worth it =) One more thing, I plan to NOT to make the episodes of Video Game Genres to be in HD because I don't want past episodes of the series to look outdated when they never were in HD. So I'm doing my best to make the episodes more focused on quality of information rather than how good it looks. Don't worry, my reviews and all my other videos will be in HD, but not episode of Video Game Genres. Anyway, I'll do my very best to make another 3D Platformer review coming soon!

BTW, the next episode of the BOOCHOW! Radio Podcast will be recorded next week, so be sure to stay tuned for our 20th Episode BOOCHOW! Special!!!

Oddworld Quintology (Part 2) - Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee review

Before watching this review PLEASE watch Part 1 of the Oddworld Quintology first before watching this review because in this review I'll be comparing this game with the past Oddworld Games.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ud8RxH_z8k

Finally, the long awaited Oddworld Quintology Part 2 has finally arrived. In this part of the Oddworld Quintology I'll be reviewing Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee for the Xbox. The reason why it took me so long to do this review is because the information on this game was very little and some part of the review I never got a full answer so don't expect that I have them all. Usually when I review a single game, it takes about up to 15 minutes, but since there has been SO much that hasn't been mentioned about Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, I have to step in and finally talk about this forgotten game that everyone seems to overlook or never really thought of. Clearly this game is more than meets the eye and it's something that many 3D Platformer fans, such as I, could enjoy.
Part 3 of the Oddworld Quintology is going to me reviewing Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and unfortunately it's going be a long time till that review is posted because like Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, there's not enough information about the game and it's going to slow me down on this tight schedule of games I want to review. So enjoy Oddworld Quintology Part 2 Munch's Oddysee.

My Top 10 Hardest Missions in Jak 2

-WARNING! - The following video contains massive amount of profanity, aggressive behavior, & immature materials that is not for the faint of heart, people with strick standards, or for any Jak fanboy who are easily offended, but rather for comedic purposes for my fans who loved my reaction of Jak 2 in Naughty Dog vs. Insomniac Games Round 6. (See it here) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgfjCTABuUI
Viewer discretion is advised!

__________________________________________________________

Since it has been over a year since Naughty Dog vs. Insomniac Games has ended, I want to bring tribute to my biggest accomplishment in making that versus series in doing a Top 10 Hardest list of everybody's favorite part of the versus series; of course Jak 2.
I want to be clear that this is one of my favorite games made by Naughty Dog but I will not just let my love for this game to be overlooked due to it's VERY memorable high level of difficulty. So this is my Top 10 list of the Missions of Jak 2 that angered, frustrated, & hurt myself in trying to beat this game. So as we go through this list I'll be bringing back my painful memories of this game and at the same time show me actually trying to beat the game in a live recording showing you guys how exactly angry I was with these missions.

Vlog 6/10/11 - I'm Back

After being gone for 2 month hiatus, it's great to comeback to Japan and do what normally do. I'm here to talk about what has happened to me and my family while we evacuated out of Japan and my upcoming videos. I made few mistakes in this Vlog, but I don't really care, we all make mistakes. It was a rough ride, but it's great to have everything back to where it was hoping that there wouldn't be another earthquake. Also, the next episode of the Boochow Radio Podcast is coming very soon! As of the recording of this video, we'll be recording the next episode of the podcast.

The Longest Journey & Dreamfall: The Longest Journey review

The games I'm finally reviewing are two games; one game that is considered the greatest adventure game of all time and the other is one of the most mixed-reception of a sequels ever.

I wanted to review these games because it has been in my attention for the past couple of months. Ignoring them would mean I missing a great opportunity of promoting these games. First thing I do in this review is to review the first game, The Longest Journey, excursively for the PC.
Here, I judge it's presentation and how well it does play as an adventure game, which I am critical when it comes to games that are considered the "greatest of all time." I'll tell you why I like these

Then next in this video, I'll be reviewing the sequel Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. I'll do the same with reviewing this game just like it's prequel. Is Dreamfall a true sequel to The Longest Journey? Well, find out in this review and see why both the Longest Journey & Dreamfall: The Longest Journey has been on my attention for the past couple of months.
_________________________________________________________

--UPDATE: This will be my last review on an adventure game until further notice. I will however return reviewing Platformers... two weeks from now
...because of Final Exams DX

--NOTICE: Sorry for the crappy visuals for the Longest Journey. I always have a VERY hard time to get good quality on an old PC game. I had the same trouble with Grim Fandango and other 3D PC games, (2D PC games are easy)

Gexup's Vlog 3/11/11 - Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami

Since I live at the North, we all felt the Earthquake. We had a lot of Earthquakes, monthly, but they were just little shakes, however, today was the worst one yet. Where we were at, we had 10 Earthquakes happening, and that's scary!
When I got home from Emergency Evacuation, I just found out that there's a Tsunami disaster happening at the South. But thankfully, I'm safe now. So thank you all for your support

Forgive me if I studded a in this video, but I'm not really used to speaking on a camera, but it has been a pretty rough day for me. So what do you say; You want more Vlogs from me?

Still Life review

This is my first review on an adventure game since my review on Grim Fandango in my Tim Schafer tribute. This is one of my favorite adventure games, mainly because of the AWESOMENESS of the main character, Victoria McPherson. The version I'm reviewing is on the Xbox and it's a VERY different experience (in terms of gameplay) than on the PC. I hope you guys like this review because at the end of the video I'll show you guys why Victoria McPherson is my favorite "female" video game character EVER!
____________________________________________________________________

--UPDATE: I'm going to do one more review on an adventure game that has been on my mind for the past couple of months. The next video game I'm going to review is something I grew a passion for and that I want to do more than just a review, I REALLY want to heavily discuss about it. Afterwards, I'm going back in reviewing Platformers and all the other games I really wanted to review in a very long time.

Video Game Genre - Adventure Games

(Episode 5) In this episode of Video Game Genres, we take a very good look at the most important genre in video games, period. This is a genre that does not have action in them, but rather puzzle-solving, exploration, dialog, and story-driven type of games that we don't see as often. These games are some of the most well crafted and well designed games than many of the modern mainstream games that oversaturated action clichรฉ that barely makes a difference. Adventure games are all about using your brains which requires hard thinking and patients when in play. They were once the most popular game genre in the 1980's, but now they're far from being the number 1 genre of gaming today. So my duty is to promote this video game genre and show you guys what many of these games have to offer; memorable & well-developed characters, original & creative setting, and some of the BEST story-lines in video games, ever! The storylines in these adventure games has some of the most thrilling, comedic, and intuitive storylines that you can EVER find in video games. Even more original than many people's favorite game's storyline and that's saying a lot in talking about this genre as a whole.

If you're not familiar with this genre, you MUST see this video because no one else would show this genre's glory!!!

Beyond Good & Evil Review

This is a very special that I've wanted to do for a very long time. Clearly, this is one of Ubisoft's most hidden gems and one of the most underrated games of all time. If you haven't played this video game yet, watch this review then do what you can to get your hands on this game. This game is worth anyone's time because this is some of the most magical, heart-warming, beautiful game the gaming industry has ever had.

I decided to make this the right time to do the review because there's going to be an HD remake on this game that is truly a must buy. It has beautiful scenery, memorable & lovable characters, emotional plot, outstanding gameplay, phenomenal presentation, and all the qualifications to be as the greatest game of all time. Beyond Good & Evil is the game that everyone should experience and you'll see why in this review!

If you like this review, share it to somebody who hasn't played it already because it will be a wasted opportunity if it's too late for them to play it.

Platinum Platformer Awards 2010 (Final Round)

Now that end is near, I want to be ver clear, this is my opinion! I know that I upset a lot of people with my decisions in the other rounds. Just to let you know that not everyone has the same opinion as every other and since this is my award ceremony, this is my official decision of my favorite Platformer of 2010... minus Limbo.
BUT BEFORE WE NAME THE WINNER...
I'm going to rant with every one of the standing nominees of the Final Round showing you guys my frustrations, issues, and problems I have with these games because I have a ton of them! So don't feel like I'm one sided
________________________________________________

One more thing, whatever I name the winner of the Platinum Platformer Awards 2010, it's NOT exactly my favorite Game of the Year. If you want to know check out the Boochow 2010 Awards!!!

Hope you all enjoyed these awards and stay tuned for next year's Platinum Platformer Awards 2011 and stay tuned for my next review coming soon!

Platinum Platformer Awards 2010 (Part 4)

Here in Part 4, we only have two rounds.

I know I've been keeping you guys waiting, but the next video is the FINAL ROUND!!!

See you all on at the FINAL ROUND!!! ...Are you Ready?

Top 10 Gexup-Moments in 2010

Merry Christmas! This is a clip show of my favorite moments on YouTube. There has been so many great moments I've made throughout this year and it's a shame that it has come to an end for 2011. I have to say that 2010 was one of my favorite times ever and I want to thank each and every one of you who has been supporting my channel and appreciate everything I've done. Even though I've been through hard times with the trolls & everyone who has been against my opinions in the past, it was all worth it to make you all happy. =D

So this is my Christmas Present to you tell you all what I know are the best moments I've done on YouTube this year. These are the parts of my videos that I never get tired of watching over & over again! Also there is a BIG surprise at the end that you will want to see! XD

UPDATE: The Platinum Platformer Awards is almost complete. Sorry I couldn't finish it on Christmas so thank you all for your patients.

Once again... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!

Platinum Platformer Awards 2010 (Part 3)

Now on Part 3 we have Round 4, 5, & 6.

On Round 4 I judge on Innovation. Let's be honest, Platformers have offered more innovation in the past than any other genre out there. That's why almost everyone of them are very, if not completely different, from each other. But here I judge on how different it looks compared to other platformers out in the past and how much it stretches and expands the genre as a whole.

Then On Round 5 I judge on collectables because some of the best platformers of all time had some of the most rewarding collectibles in which it makes completing the game with 100% completion worth a damn. The one with the least rewarding & least amount of collectables is out of the competition.

Lastly on Round 6 I judge on how long the platform game is actually. The best ones in history had some of the most gameplay hours and at times the biggest replay value. But at the same time there are still Platformers today that is too short that it ruins the experience and cannot be considered to be the greatest of all time.

So see you guys in Part 4. Also, this is copy right fair use of Old Yeller borrowed in this video.

Platinum Platformer Awards 2010 (Part 2)

Now since we finally made this award ceremony into a versus series, in part 2 of the Platinum Platformer Awards 2010, we cover Round 1, 2, & 3 in one video. On the first round we judge on [design], NOT GRAPHICS. We judge on how much creativity each game has to offer and now nice the game actually looks and feels going through from beginning to end.

On the second round I judge on [soundtrack &/or sound]. How well the music & sound effect actually is nice to hear through our ears. Some of the best platformers had some of the catchiest music we can ask for and at time some of the most well recognized sound effects.

On the third round we judge the most important thing in Platformers; of course, [platforming!] XD How much fun & exciting it actually is just jumping & landing on platforms. And some of the best platformers were always remembered for the best platforming.

Platinum Platformer Awards 2010

This is an independent internet award event dedicated to Platformers. In which any kind of platformer can be in this award show - 2D Platformer, Metroidvania, Cinematic Platformer, 3D Platformer, just as long as they have jumping and numerous of platformer to land on.

Our nominees are, Rocket Knight, Super Mario Galaxy 2, MegaMan 10, Super Meat Boy, The Sly Collection, Epic Mickey, Limbo, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Sonic the Hedghog 4 & Sonic Colors.

Since this is the BEST line of platformers that came out in a very long time, it's sad to see that no other video game award ceremony will give a decent award to Platformers (like the shitty Spike TV VGAs) It's about time to give more appreciation to all the platformers that game out this year and for me to decide on what I think is the best...
for that you have to see it in Part 2, 3, & 4 because I've decided to make this award ceremony into a versus series. It's the biggest one since my Naughty Dog vs. Insomniac Games. This time I'm battling out all 12 nominees in 9 Rounds and eliminating the looser for each Round till the final round just to see the best platformers that came out this 2010.

Duke Nukem 3D review

This is my last video game review in 2010. But Since Duke Nukem Forever is coming in 2011, what better way than to promote one of my most anticipated games for next year than Duke Nukem 3D. I'm playing the Atomic Edition, N64, & original PC Version of Duke Nukem 3D in the recordings.

Also, there's a "High-Resolution Pack" that is legally downloadable for free to update the graphics for Duke Nukem 3D for the PC. All you need is any of the versions of Duke Nukem 3D in your PC and click on the fallowing sites to download the HRP, mods, and more from 3D Realms's site.

http://hrp.duke4.net/
http://www.3drealms.com/

I grew up with Duke Nukem 3D since I first played it on the N64 at age-6 and still it hasn't lost its appeal for me. I still keep Duke Nukem in my heart and enjoyed the hell out of the series. I've been waiting for Duke Nukem Forever for a very long time and I'm more than excited to play this game and FINALLY playing something original in FPS.

My Top 10 Cinematic Platformers

After a whole month of doing my very best to promote Cinematic Platformers, I'm here to finally give you guys My Top 10 Cinematic Platformers. By which it's a 2D Platformer subgenre that takes interactive gameplay and made everything cinematic. I know you probably heard me say this many times, but for more information on Cinematic Platformers, take a look at Video Game Genres - Cinematic Platformers to understand what the genre is about.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMuoEL0Pmi4

I know I only did three videos on Cinematic Platformers, but it was a lot of hard work getting everything recorded and doing research before doing my videos and it feels a little incomplete doing a Top 10 with a lot of reviews left undone. So here it is, "My Top 10 Cinematic Platformers" in which I'm doing my very best to put tribute to all the games in this category of games in it's full potential and respect that it deserves!

Another World & Heart of Darkness review (Eric Chahi tribute)

It's been a while since I've done a tribute review to a specific video game developer (Tim Schafer review) I decide to do one on Eric Chahi who has created two games Another World & Heart of Darkness. This is a review on two games and at the same time a brief history on Eric Chahi's career.
Another World itself is one of the most inspirational games ever created and most amazingly, Eric Chahi created the entire game all by himself and you need to see this video for my opinion of the game. 7 Years later, he created Heart of Darkness which itself was also a great game, minus the cutscenes.
This is perfect for my Cinematic Platformer month and what better time than to do this video. One more thing, it's has been years since we've heard of Eric Chahi himself, since Heart of Darkness, but he finally announced his next upcoming game and it's called "From Dust" and I don't know much about the game, but judging by the footage I saw on E3 '10, it looks a lot different than any other game I've seen this far & since Eric himself has created some of the greatest games ever this is going to be good. From Dust has become my most anticipated game of 2011 and I can't wait to try it out!

Oddworld Quintology (Part 1) - Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee & Exoddus review

This is my review on the Oddworld Quintology, which was created by Oddworld Inhabitants. Here in part 1 of the Oddworld Quintology, I'll be reviewing Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. Rather than doing a review separately, I want to discuss about these two games because this month I'm currently working on Cinematic Platformers which the first two Oddworld games are all about. In my book, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is one of the most important games in gaming history which the interactive gameplay & design, gamespeak, and more which was never done before it. Then Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus (the sequel) came and did more of what Oddysee has accomplished. In the future, I'll be continuing the Oddworld Quintology series review on Oddworld: Munch's Odysee (Part 2) and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (Part 3). It would take a while for me to finish this series because I'm heavily on schedule and I need to take time to finish other video games to review. So if you're a huge fan of the Oddworld series, subscribe to see the Oddworld Quintology to complete in the future.

Video Game Genre - Cinematic Platformer

(Episode 4) Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the most under-appreciated video game genre of all time! This 2D Platformer subgenre the does not defy the laws of physics like in traditional 2D Platformers, but rather takes realism into its own hands by making it realistic (in 2D Platformer standards). These games have provided real challenge, puzzles, adventure, and magic to gaming that it is a shame that it isn't a successful genre.

Also it feels like nothing is done after doing this video so the rest of November I'm going to do many reviews on some of the best games in this subgenre and by the end of the month, I'm going to give you guys "My Top 10 Cinematic Platformers" in which I'll be naming some of the best games in order, in my opinion. This subgenre has really caught my attention that I'm surprised that not that many people talk about this more. So I'm here to do my very best in promoting this subgenre and get you guys to see these games the way I see them. So I hope that you guys learn something in this video and if you want some more videos on Cinematic Platformers, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!

Scary Games & Me (Part 2)

Please watch Part 1 first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvVnQPb5IXY
As I finish off my favorite memories with horror games, I'm getting to the part where there are games that scared me in my young adult days. These are again, in no particular order what are my favorite scary games are, just my brief history with horror games from beginning to end. So I hope you enjoyed this video, and Happy Halloween, everybody!

Scary Games & Me (Part 1)

These are in no particular order of what my favorite scary games are, but are my most nostalgic scary moments that I had in my years in gaming from beginning to this day of gaming. I haven't done a video like this since "Donkey Kong & Me," but I want to do this because a lot of you guys wanted me to talk more about scary games after completing "Video Game Genres -- Survival Horror." So this is my last Halloween Treat for you guys so enjoy this video and stay tuned for Part 2!

Video Game Genres - Survival Horror

part 2

(Episode 3) This is an action-adventure sub-genre with horror elements. Happy Halloween, everybody & what better way to celebrate than to talk about some scary games and Survival Horror is a great pick. But this video isn't just about Survival Horror, but also other Horror genres in general before Survival Horrors that terrified gamers back in the day. Because there's more to horror games than Survival Horrors; we can't forget about these old scares and just focus on one genre. So in this episode, I'll be talking about the origins of Survival Horror with text-based adventure games, to horror point-and-click adventure games, FMVs, first-person shooters, and what game started the Survival Horror phenomenon, and most of all what makes a Survival Horror game and over-analyze the downfall of horror Less
games in general.

Gex Trilogy review

Calling all Gex fans! IT'S TAIL TIME! After keeping you guys waiting a year for me to make another Gex video, here it is! Rather than just making a simple review on
Gex, I'm going to review not just the original Gex, Gex: Enter the Gecko, and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko, but all three of them into one video, plus a better job than the original reviews.

This video took me weeks to finish due to technical difficulties with my PS3 being recorded on my DVD recorder (aka the original Gex). So the quality of the original Gex won't be as good as Gex: Enter the Gecko or Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko (which I recorded them on my PS1). It feels great to make another Gex video because he is one of my favorite games from my childhood and it would be wrong to just forget him.

A lot has happened since my first review on Gex: Enter the Gecko, but I think it's about time to make a step back to what I was doing and do something that other people would not do. So I hope that you guys like this video.

My Top 10 Killer Instinct Tracks

I didn't not want to put my voice in this video because I want the music to speak for itself, so PLEASE turn on the annotation to see my opinion of each song. I've been playing so much of Killer Instinct on my MAME that I want to give you guys my Top 10 Songs of the Killer Instinct series. The soundtracks of the series is just awesome, intense, & catchy, which is what Rare is most known for.

So here is my favorite tracks that always gets me in the mood to make Ultra Combos. So I'm only counting Killer Instinct Arcade, Killer Cuts (the CD), Killer Instinct 2, and Killer Instinct Gold. I skipping out on SNES & Gameboy versions because they're not as great to listen to, in my opinion.

Going To Tokyo Game Show 2010

Well, this was our trip to the Tokyo Game Show 2010, and sad to say that there wasn't much to cover in this show when we were there and rarely anything exciting compared to E3. But, fortunately we got a chance to try out Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and that game was the WHOLE show! Believe me, it was AMAZING!

There was a lot that this year's Tokyo Game Show could have improved like having Nintendo, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Deus Ex 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and some new anime games that we couldn't get in America. I'm sure we missed a lot of games. But unfortunately, there was nothing really exciting that we haven't heard of; it's just games & stuff that has been already been announced in E3
