Joe's Written Reviews - Epic
While an aspect of this film did intrigue me, I can honestly say that I was reluctant to watch Epic. Not for anything inherently bad I saw in the film, as the trailer revealed almost nothing about the plot (outside of the standard shrinking human trope), but rather the fact that I have become fed up with the Ferngully-Ant Bully style story. However upon seeing the film, I am surprisingly pleased.
Epic is based William Joyce's children's book, The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs. It is the story of M.K., a 17 year old who is estranged from her father. Through a series of events, she finds herself drawn into the middle of a war between the guardians of the forest, the Leafmen, and their mortal enemies, Boggans.
As stated previously, I had very low expectations for this movie. It seemed like the usual "humans are evil/protect the environment" story that has become cliche in modern entertainment. But surprisingly there are only two humans in the entire story, M.K. and her father. Instead the film goes out of its way to state that the forest is able to protect itself through the Leafmen, which is a nice change of pace.
Almost all the voice actors do a marvelous job, in particular Christoph Waltz as Mandrake, the Boggan leader, and Colin Farrell as the commander of the Leafmen, Ronin. In fact Ronin and Queen Tara are so good in this movie that I found myself more interested in their story than that of M.K.. I honestly would prefer a prequel to this movie focusing on Ronin, Tara, and Nod's father.
Nod's father, however, brings up a major problem with this movie. There are a lot of things going on and we are (like M.K.) thrown right in the middle of it all. The problem is that much of the background information is oftentimes either far more interesting than the actual narrative, like Nod's father or Professor Bomba's past, or too vague or quickly glossed to be effective, like M.K. and Nod's "romance", if you can call it that.
There was a lot of problems with this film, but it is better than I expected. With a complex mythology that is honestly more interesting than the actual film narrative, I feel that if a sequel or prequel better used the unique atmosphere, there could be something really great here.
That being said, I do think that Epic is worth a watch. But I would wait until the price goes down before I bought a ticket.

Gexup - Comic Book & Graphic Novel Collection
I'm coming back home, but first I must make a video... and it's my first ever collection video! This is basically all the comics and graphic novels I bought when I arrived in America and I finally bought comic books and graphic novels that I couldn't get in Japan. Comics is my favorite media and I just couldn't help myself but to buy as much as I could. So enjoy watching what I've collected. I do admit I talked a little too much in this video, but seeing that most of you guys don't really know much of my background history with comics and my fans are more into video games, just check these out, they're some of the coolest things ever, in my humble opinion.

Joe's Written Reviews - Star Trek into Darkness
To ensure continued and unique content for both It’s Tail Time and Phoenix 8 Productions, I have decided to do written reviews of new theatrical releases that I see. Cinema in Review will be reserved for older films available on DVD.
I can think of no better film to start my written reviews with than Star Trek into Darkness. J.J. Abrams has hit it out of the park with this science-fiction spectacle that may in time even rival the classic Star Trek films.
The film follows the adventures of the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise as they go on the hunt for a dangerous Federation terrorist. Their adventure takes them deep into Klingon space, and into the middle of a conspiracy that could destroy them all.
The story is well-written and expertly paced. The plot creates the right amounts of tension and nostalgia to please both Trekkies and non-Trekkies. It assists in the character arcs of both Spock and Kirk, who have come a long way since the first Star Trek. There are plenty of references and nods to the original series, and while one is very heavy-handed, they work very well and feel natural. They manage to give this a feel all its own while still honoring the legacy of this nearly half-century institution.
There is a twist in this movie that I will dare not reveal, but I honestly could see it coming from a mile away. Regardless of that fact, it is perfectly executed and makes this film so much better for it. You will not be disappointed.
All of the characters are great. Kirk and Spock are spectacular and gain a great deal of character growth, with a friendship that feels real and natural. Uhuru and Sulu both get amazing and surprising development in ways I couldn’t possibly have seen coming. Scotty and Chekov are incredibly funny; while Carol Marcus joins the crew in a strong, yet heartfelt performance.
But of all the characters, Benedict Cumberbath as Harrison steals the show. He just owns the damn thing and I would recommend this film just for his performance alone. He manages to come across as vicious and bloodthirsty, while also possessing a charm and emotionality that makes it hard not to root for him.
You will not be disappointed. See this movie in theatres if you can, and buy it on DVD at your earliest capability.
The Rating: MUST BUY!!!

Cinema in Review - Brony Documentary
After a 2 month hiatus, Joe finally gets around to reviewing the Brony Documentary. But in truth, all he has is revenge on the mind.
Short Review: Very well done. If the scope of the documentary was wider, I think it would be better. But regardless, this is well done and well-crafted.

The Rules List and descriptions
This is for everyone who doesn't understand or not know the rules of using the forum site. Read the rule well so no one can get in trouble with us.
#1 No Fighting, rage wars or hurtful comments on the site
-We refuse to participate people's dramas, violent behavior, and personal bias. We want the site to be free from hatred and make it safe fir everyone. If you refuse to act friendly or behave peacefully then we have no choice but to take action. If you see an arrogant comment on the site, try to act peacefully and try not to be one sided. If the other person continues to be ignorant just don't say anything, we'll take care of giving that person a warning or ban him/her.
#2 Don't Post threads that are in the wrong forum section
- Each forum section is to keep everything organized and stay on topic with each of the admins videos or other content. They are there for responses to an Admin's content and staying on topic with what the admin has said. Anything that's posted on Admin's forum section that has nothing to do with what he/she covers is unacceptable. We have an off topic section to say what we want. Anything that's way out of hand from the Admin causes confusion and is abusing Admin's opportunity to hear what others think about their video and their posts on the site. Only the Admin is allowed to create topics that are way out of topic of their posts in their own forum section
#3 No Requests (unless asked for) or Telling Us What to do
-The Admins on the site are in tight schedules on the things that we just want to cover. The last thing we want to do is to do something that makes us unhappy or slow us down from everything that we want to share on the site. Unless if that Admin is asking for a request, don't bother giving him/her one. We want to stay happy in doing the things that we want to do, not feeling miserable to make others happy.
#4 When Admin gives you a rule, Please Follow it
- Admins like to make mailbag questions, their own series, and more. When an Admin asks everyone "not to..." or "please don't..." Just don't do it. If you break the rule, edit your post before it's too late. Nothing is more aggravating than asking someone just to do something and people just disobeys it. Respect the Admin because they put a lot of hard work on keeping the site going. IF they ask something that you don't like, then don't participate, it's just that simple. Breaking the rules is just as bad as giving hate comments; it makes everyone upset.
#5 No Spamming
-Weather if it's on messagers or forum replies, don't repeatedly make comment after comment. Every member can edit their own posts and everyone has more than enough room to say what they want to in their posts. It is unnecessary to make multiple posts on threads unless you ran out of room, want to say another thing, or replying to someone or quoting a previous post. Keep in mind that we want to keep everything organized.
#6 Don't Talk About Banned Members
-Any mention on a banned member is intolerable. We banned them because they broke our rules and they have caused so much anger among the members/admins. It only frustrates us much more to hear from these banned members from other members. When we ban someone we want to forget about them. Our site and forum is like our house; we invite anyone but we forbid violators and bad people in our home. It's either you respect our house or we take action. There's a reason their gone and we never want them to return. If you disagree that they shouldn't be banned, then we'll show you what they've done that angered us. And if you're not convinced that's evidence and you continue to talk about the banned member, then you're just as bad as the person we've banned. We've tried to be civilized with that individual but they refused to improve on their behavior and obey the rules of the site. Once you're banned, you're out! If a banned member is apologizing for what they've done, it will take a long time to see if we accept their apology because there's no guarantee that they won't do it again.
#7 Threads Are For Everyone, Messages are For One Person
Please do not make a thread just to ask a simple question. Take note, Threads are for discussion and if every question was submitted this way it would only clutter up room and cause people to miss real discussions. There is no discussion in a post that only requires one reply, again, we just want to keep everything organized. If you have any simple questions, just kindly message an Admin, we do reply.

For those that have stuck around for years watching my videos, commenting and liking my videos, you dudes are great. For those just tuning in, that's also great, but for fuck's sake stop saying Shadow on the Wall is genuinely good. If that's the case, I know some videos that may blow your mind.
